Josh Holloway enjoyed a long run on Lost but unfortunately he hasn’t been as lucky with Intelligence. The CBS TV show has now been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.
On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.
After the failure of Hostages, the network was hoping for Intelligence to be a ratings hit to fill their Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It wasn’t to be. Despite some impressive star talent and special effects, the show couldn’t draw enough viewers.
The network debuted it after NCIS on a Tuesday night and the show drew decent numbers but, once it moved to its regular Monday night slot, the ratings tanked. The season of 13 episodes averaged a 1.3 demo rating with 6.85 million viewer, making it one of the lowest-rated shows on the network.
That wasn’t good enough to mandate a second season renewal so Intelligence has been cancelled. The final episode aired on March 31st.
What do you think? Did you like this Josh Holloway series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?
Shame, i loved this show!!! I was hoping to see how it turned out.. Oh well.
I loved this show!!!! I love josh Galloway. Lost was the best show ever and when he got his new series I was so happy
I’m a boomer, and I LOVED this show. Maybe it was the shallow, self-absorbed younger set who can’t relate to technology being used for something more important than posting their current relationship. status.
I agree – unfortunately, the TV networks don’t care about us baby boomer generation when it comes to ratings.
Sorry the show has been axed I watched the complete series hoping series 2 was in the pipeline
I can’t beleive this series was cancelled as i thought itwas a really good tv show an gutted about not having another seies as there are so many questions been left open an un answered but i guess 6.85 million veiwers ain’t enough.
gutted this show has been cancelled !! really did enjoy it!
This is an example of a program being ahead of the times. In this age of technological advancements, the general population cannot relate to what will happen in the future. They are afraid….especially the boomers. Of course, some are exceptions to this fear. The characters were just starting to blossom. Too bad that one of my favorite actors will not be on the screen. I mourned when LOST was over, and now I mourn that Josh Holloway is missing AGAIN! He is an extraordinary talented actor… CBS and my loss.
Noooooooooo bring it back.
With so much rubbish on TV at the moment, especially in the UK, ( you should see how embarrassing some of our reality shows are.!! ) I am very surprised this show has been cancelled. Loved seeing how the relationships were beginning to develope, and the effects were amazing. Time slots seem to play a big part in the success of a show over in the States. In England, it doesn’t seem to matter what day/time a show is on. Quality is Quality.!!!
Omg I was hoping for another season I enjoyed watching Josh and Marg. I finally haf a show that I could enjoy and now taking away
How could you cancel this!!!! Great show
top notch..great writers..great acting..so wrong to cancel it..
I want the show back on it filled my Monday slot of shows
I LOVED Intelligence. I watched it faithfully and couldn’t wait for it to return. Big bummer that it won’t be back. RENEW this show!!
I’m disappointed I really liked intelligence I loved the actors and the relationships 🙁 but other shows such as castle which I also watch aired at the same time so I can see why it had poor ratings.
I just watched entire series again. Went to see when it was going to be on again. I can’t believe it’s cancelled. Please bring it back.
