In terms of its demo average, the first season of Kevin James’ Kevin Can Wait TV show was a top three performer for CBS. The comedy also ranked in 10th place in terms of total audience size, during the 2016-17 television season. That doesn’t tell the whole story, though. The numbers dwindled after it lost The Big Bang Theory as its lead-in. In the second season they’re shaking things up, by killing off Erinn Hayes’ character, Donna Gable, and bringing on James’ King of Queens co-star, Leah Remini, to reprise her season one turn as Vanessa Cellucci. Can reuniting this comic duo further build upon this successful series’ ratings? Will Kevin Can Wait be cancelled or renewed for season three on CBS? Stay tuned.
A multi-camera sitcom, Kevin Can Wait stars Kevin James, Taylor Spreitler, Ryan Cartwright, Mary-Charles Joes, James DiGiacomo, Gary Valentine, Leonard Earl Howze, and Leah Remini. The CBS TV series centers on Kevin Gable (James). In the first season, this former police officer yearned to revel in his retirement. The second installment opens a year after the events of the season one finale. Now, in the wake of Donna’s death, Kevin finds himself working for his old rival, Vanessa, at her security firm. **Status update below.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. It sucks. Really disappointed.
first season was great season 2 there are no words to describe how terrible this show has become i watch it each week only because my roomate she likes the show but me id rather turn the tv off
Liked the first season better and didn’t like what the did to the actress playing his wife. Now that Leah is on it’s no different then King of Queens. There’s only so much of that you can take. Again think it was rotten what was done to the actress playing his wife. Kevin good bye.

I tried to watch it and I didn’t crack a smile not even once. I was surprised since I am a huge fan of King of Queens. The show is just not funny.
Too bad Nick Bakay is not available? I think he helped with “Mom” the first season, which was the only season I watched that show because it was funny. Not so much anymore. This show really needs Nick!! It seems to be getting a groove, and I do get some laughs, but as much as I Love Love Leah, well, just in general, this plastic surgery and face-altering is really becoming a drag. People just do not even look human and are barely shells of themselves. It kind of makes me nervous… What is so bad with natural aging and… Read more »
I love Kevin and Leah! The show needs new writers. How about Kevin and Vanessa getting married. Having a baby, being grandparents, step family issues. In-laws, friends, why do you think King of Queens was so great? I do not like them being in business together. I think Kevin and Vanessa are not meant to be friends but husband and wife. Come on save this show. I really do love the cast members. Great talent is being wasted. Many people want to see clean family fun. No political, or social issues. Give Leah a break— who ever is writing her… Read more »
So happy to be able to see this couple together again . I liked the show when it first started but felt there wasn t a connection until Leah Remini came on the show ! Love the show can t wait yo see the next episode !
This show is basically King of Queens all over again without Arthur,Spence,Deacon and Kelly. Kevin James is more of an OAF in this show and was funnier in King of Queens. I won’t watch the next 2 added on shows or season 3 if they get one. I rate season 2 as a “thumbs down!”
The star of the show was killed off. She was truly the funny one. Now the show is pointless. Leah is over, she is not funny. The jersey tough girl is great in Jersey but in California, she is just annoying, once my favorite show, Now I no longer watch.
