(LOS ANGELES) – Across America, there are isolated places that appear untouched. In these desolate and sprawling areas – known as killing fields – dozens of deaths remain mysteries, baffling anyone daring enough to investigate. On Tuesday, January 3 at 10 PM ET/PT, Discovery Channel will return to the Louisiana swamplands as an active criminal investigation unfolds for season two of KILLING FIELDS.
KILLING FIELDS is co-executive produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Tom Fontana (“St. Elsewhere,” “Homicide: Life On The Street,” “Oz” and “The Philanthropist“) and Academy Award-winning film director Barry Levinson (“Rain Man,” “Diner,” “Bugsy,” “Wag the Dog” and “Good Morning, Vietnam”). Under Sheriff Brett Stassi and Major Ronnie Hebert, detectives Rodie Sanchez, Aubrey St. Angelo, Lori Morgan, Jeremy Sanchez, and Leslie Bradford and Brett Stassi, Jr. investigate real crimes in the small community of Iberville Parish, Louisiana, located just 15 miles from the state capitol, Baton Rouge.
Shot in real time, the series picks up from last season as Rodie, Aubrey, and the team zero in on the infamous 1997 homicide of former Louisiana State University student Eugenie Boisfontaine. Rodie is more determined than ever to close the case, which has haunted him for nearly two decades.
But that isn’t the only case that catches their attention. The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office tracks another terrifying case after evidence surfaces in a nearby Parish of a body stuffed inside a barrel. Rodie believes that this is tied to an unsolved disappearance he worked 26 years ago. Even more compelling – the facts surrounding the barrel are eerily similar to what the prime suspect once admitted in a separate investigation for that missing person’s case. But even with such information, Rodie could never lock him up because the body could not be found… Perhaps until now.
Together, with the guidance of Major Ronnie Hebert, the team works tirelessly to secure crucial evidence, uncover grisly facts, and pursue new leads – all with one mission in mind: closing these cases and bringing justice to the victims’ families. With the advancement in forensic technology – along with good old-fashioned police work – the team gets closer to capturing the truth that leads them in a cat and mouse chase. Will Rodie be able to keep good on his word? And can the team finally bring closure to the many victims and their families?
KILLING FIELDS is produced for Discovery Channel by Sirens Media, a Leftfield Entertainment Company. For Sirens Media, Executive Producers are Rebecca Toth Diefenbach, Valerie Haselton Drescher, and Lucilla D’Agostino. For Discovery Channel, Denise Contis and Joseph Schneier are Executive Producers with Max Micallef as Coordinating Producer. Best show on hope it comes back for a 3rd season. Never miss an episode.
We loved THE KILLING FIELDS!! PLEASE bring it back!!!!
Love the show.. wouldn’t miss it for anything!!! Hopefully it will be on for a long time.. please don’t cancel
The show
Best show on TV! Haven’t missed an episode, in fact have watched each episode many times over. It would be a sad day if there are plans to cancel this series anytime soon!
Absolutely will watch. We love the show!
We love Killing Fields…..Our family schedule does not allow us alot of time together, but the night Killing Fields is on…we are all eyes on the team!! Awesome show, I hope it returns….
This is my first year that I have watched the show “Killing Fields” Im hooked, line and sinker. Can’t get enough——even autotune the show later on in the week and watch a second time. God forbid one of my love ones came up missing Rodie and Aubrey and the team would be the first ones I would call. It’s educational on how to build and solve a missing or murder case, while letting us see the emotional side of law enforce-ment. And the toll it takes on ALL envolved. Love the show!
How can you cancel a show and just leave everything up in the air like season 2 did..we want to know do they close both of the cases they were working on and do they find out who the other man in the barrel was, and is Rodie ok he was having health problems.
I know there is a special premiere next Tuesday but will this show be back for a third season?????!!!!
This show is awesome!! Love that it is shot in real time. Keeps you on the edge of your seats. I am not far from where this is being filmed so makes it more exciting!!! Thumbs up to the iberville sheriff’s dept! The do amazing work!!
Probably the best real-time drama series I have ever seen!
The series is GREAT, eleven on a scale of ten. The sound mix, however is terrible. Conversations are literally drowned out by the incessant bass line that is way too hot in the mix. Thank goodness for subtitles!
How do we catch the makeup for 1/10/2016? I couldn’t find it!!!
Along with Homicide Hunter, this is the best detective program going. It is a work of art! Please continue it. Don’t eve think of dropping it!
