TV show description:
Sergeant Detective Jessica “Jess” King (Amy Price-Francis) made it through eight years in Homicide, as well as three motorcycle accidents and two failed marriages. As she tries to make her third marriage work, how will she handle her new job as head of the Major Crimes Task Force?
Jess is a powerhouse and a force of nature — a cop who sees things that everyone else misses. She says what she thinks and never stops thinking -– about a crime scene, about evidence, about the motivations of the suspects.
Professionally and in private, Jess faces two challenges: to save her third marriage and to prove that she’s the best cop in town. Her police unit takes over cases already in progress: the toughest cases that the ordinary police force has failed to solve.
Jess can take over any case in the city — whether the original investigating officers want her to or not — and she gets to work with a different squad in every case, ensuring that two days are never the same.
Jess’ current husband is Danny Sless (Gabriel Hogan), an officer with the ‘Guns and Gangs’ squad. He adores her but their rigorous efforts to get pregnant haven’t worked out and that’s putting a strain on things.
Detective Sergeant Derek Spears (Alan van Sprang) is the former head of the Major Crimes Task Force and Jess’ partner. She took over after he had a breakdown while on television.
Other characters include Police Chief Peter Graci (Tony Nardi), Detective Eleni Demaris (Suzanne Coy), Detective MK Gordon (Zoe Doyle), Detective Jason Collier (Aaron Poole), Detective Pen Martin (Rossif Sutherland), and Detective Ingrid Evans (Karen Robinson).
Episode 21 — Wendy Stetler
Scott Spivak is dead but Jess is convinced that his Uncle Tim is responsible for some of the Lake Road killings.
First aired: May 25, 2012.
People stopped watching because of “Danny”. Finally when king dumps him they cancel the show “wtf”
I’d really like to see this show come back and continue. I liked the characters and the actors. PLEASE HEAR ME
King is a great Canadian show. Not enough episodes. Just a note the minute some scenes started to imitate the cable shows, slide one notch down. Still a greate show
I am hooked on King…..
Oh No!!!! that was one of the best series. Was this announced? Now all we have are those reality shows, what a waste. Enough of the reality shows, show some good drama, lets get back to real tv. Please renew this show. Thanks for letting me comment.
A perfect example of why I’m cancelling my cable subscription. When I keep seeing nothing but lowest common denominator and low budget reality shows on multiple channels, and then a clearly superior show like King is not renewed, it makes me want to turn away from TV entertainment altogether.
You must renew King! This was one of the best series out there! The cast is absolutely fantastic together, the writers have nailed it and is one of the best story’s going! Finally, a show that depicts a strong woman that is trying to balance her home life with her work in a realistic manner-just like the rest of us! You really should rethink the decision of cancelling King, as a lot of people are using recordable DVR’s when other obligations get in the way of watching favorite program. I am included. My daughter and I watched this together-she is… Read more »
