TV show description:
This TV series is based on the best-selling books by author David Baldacci.
Sean King (Jon Tenney) and Michelle Maxwell (Rebecca Romijn) are unusual private investigators. Both of them used to be Secret Service agents, and their unique skills (not to mention their razor-sharp chemistry) give them a leg up on conventional law enforcement.
Maxwell is a former elite athlete who uses her brains, beauty and Beltway connections to solve cases. King’s career in the Secret Service ended when the presidential candidate he was assigned to protect was assassinated, sending him on a downward spiral.
Now, King has added a law degree to his arsenal of skills, allowing him to navigate the system in ways that a typical private investigator never could. Along the way, King and Maxwell clash over just about everything — from her garbage-strewn car to his love of wine over beer.
FBI Special Agents Rigby (Michael O’Keefe) and Carter (Chris Butler) frequently clash with King and Maxwell over their less-than-legal methods. Rigby is a veteran FBI agent with many years on the force and he always follows the rules, sticks to the facts and questions anyone who stands between him and the truth.
Carter is Agent Rigby’s junior partner and will likely go far in the agency. He works with whoever can help solve a case -– either standard law-enforcement organizations, like the police, or unconventional resources, like private investigators.
Helping the King and Maxwell team is Edgar Roy (Ryan Hurst). He joined their team after Sean King served as his lawyer during his highly publicized criminal case. Edgar is a high-functioning autistic savant who specializes in patterns and numerical sequences. He has certain work-space requirements, like sitting at a “friendly” desk and enjoying soup for lunch on Mondays.
Episode #10 — Pandora’s Box
Sean’s investigation of the Ritter assassination threatens to end his partnership with Michelle as she considers returning to the Secret Service. The shocking truth sends Sean back to the scene of the crime to prevent history from repeating itself.
First aired: August 12, 2013.
What do you think? Do you like the King & Maxwell TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
This is a fantastic show! Why would it be cancelled? What was anyone thinking? Shame!!!
I am not happy ever since I heard they were not renewing this show….but yet they keep putting on reality shows…what idiots….bring King and Maxwell back…..
I really liked this show, don’t know why it was cancelled. How about a show for people who don’t like watching junky reality shows.
I agree with you, I do not like reality shows and enjoyed Maxwell and King. It had a great story line with humor and mystery.
I can not believe you cancelled this show. It was one we watched & Dvr’d
every episode. What the heck is wrong with you
people? We love Jon Tenney !!!!
Can’t believe you would cancel a good show . TV is suppose to be for enjoyment not watching all the stupid reality shows. Reason I have cable what is happening on regular tv Once again disappointed that good old fashion tv can’t be seen. (sex and profanity) it seems that is what TV has become hard to find a program that is for entertainment. Which is what I thought I found on TNT With king and maxwell and rizzolla ,perception Are they next
I agree with you, I enjoyed the program very much. It brought humor along with some mystery.
I can’t believe they are not giving this series a chance. I am very disappointed that it’s cancelled. I loved it. What were they thinking?
It is Shame when they cancel a great show after only one season
We are very upset that they are not bring King and Maxwell back.. There is so much garage on TV that it was very refreshing to have something to look forward to .. Our favorites are Blue Bloods, Persons of Interest.. Elementary.. Major Crimes and Black List.. We hope this note will help to change their minds.. Thank you So much for your attention.
The Sables
Cancelled? OK! TNT thanks from your viewers….we can read…so who cares if you cancel? We’ll just pickup a good book or Kindle. Thanks for increasing literacy. WE can save on our cable bills or if really bored watch another channel. (after all there are over 1000 to chose from.)
The idiots win again, a bright interesting and fun show that could have been a hit canceled before it had a real chance to be found and build an audience. To many shows are killed in the 300+ channel day with DVRs before people even find them, the cast, story lines had magic they just needed time. Outside of making some of the stories 2 or more episodes long another thing would be Benny and I can’t remember the character’s name with Aspergers relationship and how he was relating to her in a non sexual way. A great plot line… Read more »
Great Show should not be cancelled. Books are great also.
Glad to know that other people liked the show. I met Rebecca once and found her to be a very nice lady.
What a shame!!! Shows with ratings that were worse are still going. The characters were well cast. The stories were done as well as any other show. Was looking forward to another season. Maybe somebody else would pick it up. Can’t understand how shows that show promise get cancelled. And shows about blubbering idiots remain on season after season. But I guess that’s why they get paid big bucks. They know the shows that we like.
I enjoy the show but as a reader of the novel, I would have liked to seen each mystery spread out over 3, 4 or 5 episodes so they could develop the plot like in the books. One hour seems too short. The shows are still good in their own right and it is unfortunate that it got cancelled. Once again, bad decision by the higher ups.
I loved this show. Huge mistake canceling this show.
I thought Maxwell and King were one of the better crime Drama’s. The Chemistry between the actors was fantastic. The storylines were as good as the Closer and Major Crimes. The show was so good I started reading the Maxwell and King novels. Too bad the networks have no patience for good shows but leave crap like those bearded hillybillies on the air.
