TV show description:
This TV series is based on the best-selling books by author David Baldacci.
Sean King (Jon Tenney) and Michelle Maxwell (Rebecca Romijn) are unusual private investigators. Both of them used to be Secret Service agents, and their unique skills (not to mention their razor-sharp chemistry) give them a leg up on conventional law enforcement.
Maxwell is a former elite athlete who uses her brains, beauty and Beltway connections to solve cases. King’s career in the Secret Service ended when the presidential candidate he was assigned to protect was assassinated, sending him on a downward spiral.
Now, King has added a law degree to his arsenal of skills, allowing him to navigate the system in ways that a typical private investigator never could. Along the way, King and Maxwell clash over just about everything — from her garbage-strewn car to his love of wine over beer.
FBI Special Agents Rigby (Michael O’Keefe) and Carter (Chris Butler) frequently clash with King and Maxwell over their less-than-legal methods. Rigby is a veteran FBI agent with many years on the force and he always follows the rules, sticks to the facts and questions anyone who stands between him and the truth.
Carter is Agent Rigby’s junior partner and will likely go far in the agency. He works with whoever can help solve a case -– either standard law-enforcement organizations, like the police, or unconventional resources, like private investigators.
Helping the King and Maxwell team is Edgar Roy (Ryan Hurst). He joined their team after Sean King served as his lawyer during his highly publicized criminal case. Edgar is a high-functioning autistic savant who specializes in patterns and numerical sequences. He has certain work-space requirements, like sitting at a “friendly” desk and enjoying soup for lunch on Mondays.
Episode #10 — Pandora’s Box
Sean’s investigation of the Ritter assassination threatens to end his partnership with Michelle as she considers returning to the Secret Service. The shocking truth sends Sean back to the scene of the crime to prevent history from repeating itself.
First aired: August 12, 2013.
What do you think? Do you like the King & Maxwell TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I am so tick off right now. Two of my favorite show have been cancelled. I love King and Maxwell and hate that it has been cancelled. A&E also cancelled The Glades, which I also loved. Oh well, more time to read, because most of the shows they put out are geared toward brain dead zombies.
Those two shows are some of my favorite shows, too. The Glades ended with a cliff hanger. I hate when they cancel a show without having an ending that wraps up things. Matt Passmore, Kiele Sanchez, Carlos Gómez, Jordan Wall, all had such chemistry. Viewers should have some say about series being cancelled.
Loved this show! I must say that having been a huge fan of The Closer, I enjoyed this show more than Major Crimes.
Great show with interesting characters, especially Edgar. I think there could be good episodes with their transitioning back to the Secret Service…..or not…….
I truly enjoyed this show. It had a great ensemble cast with very interesting characters. I was looking forward to seeing those characters develop into very good story lines during the next season and for a few more seasons to come. Bad move TNT.
Once again the viewers lose. I would love to meet the air heads who makes these decisions…..you are IDIOTS
I really liked the series. I’m sad that it has been cancelled. I never understand how some really awful series, my opinion, go on year after year and some really good ones are cancelled.
I enjoyed the show a great deal &I am a fan of Baldacci. I think he is a very consistent writer. I also like the main characters. They seem to have a good chemistry. Please bring it back. It is superior to all those reality shows. I want to be entertained. I face enough reality just living. Thanks.
King and Maxwell was one the best written shows on television. It had humor but mystery involved. It was an enjoyable way to spend part of an evening watching them. I agree that it is a shame to cancel a great show like King and Maxwell and continue to bring on reality tv shows.
it should be renewed
I really loved this show. I looked forward to seeing it every week. I am sooooooooooooo disappointed that it was cancelled. Is there any chance it will be picked up by another network? Why was it cancelled?
“King and Maxwell” is/was one of the best written and best acted shows on television. The show remained true to the author’s (David Baldacci) characters and melded well with his story lines (now in six best selling novels). It is an absolute shame the series was cancelled! I am surprised that CBS didn’t pick up the show. “King and Maxwell” ranks right with many of their police dramas. Were they even given the chance? Very good television is so very hard to find. ;-( A sad day indeed.
I truly enjoyed this show, so sad the network cancelled it so quick.
This was just a very exciting and look forward to show to watch. A show you didn’t have to worry about language or filth. A sad day when we learned it was cancelled. Please bring it back the actors should of all got academy awards. PLEASE
it’s a sad day in TV history when good shows that have good acting good production directing good writing good scripting gets cancelled in these reality shows live to see another day is reality shows are near reality shows they’re doing stuff behind the scenes in their scripts just trying to make it seem like its reality and the shows are good
So true. Sick of the reality TV shows. Trash.
Given the incredible amount of crap on TV – and I will be blunt and say “reality shows” – it is a shame that a series like this with good production values, smart story lines, great characters and solid acting gets tossed.
Please put King and Maxwell back on. There are not many good shows and this one was good. Please put it back on.
