TV show description:
This TV series is based on the best-selling books by author David Baldacci.
Sean King (Jon Tenney) and Michelle Maxwell (Rebecca Romijn) are unusual private investigators. Both of them used to be Secret Service agents, and their unique skills (not to mention their razor-sharp chemistry) give them a leg up on conventional law enforcement.
Maxwell is a former elite athlete who uses her brains, beauty and Beltway connections to solve cases. King’s career in the Secret Service ended when the presidential candidate he was assigned to protect was assassinated, sending him on a downward spiral.
Now, King has added a law degree to his arsenal of skills, allowing him to navigate the system in ways that a typical private investigator never could. Along the way, King and Maxwell clash over just about everything — from her garbage-strewn car to his love of wine over beer.
FBI Special Agents Rigby (Michael O’Keefe) and Carter (Chris Butler) frequently clash with King and Maxwell over their less-than-legal methods. Rigby is a veteran FBI agent with many years on the force and he always follows the rules, sticks to the facts and questions anyone who stands between him and the truth.
Carter is Agent Rigby’s junior partner and will likely go far in the agency. He works with whoever can help solve a case -– either standard law-enforcement organizations, like the police, or unconventional resources, like private investigators.
Helping the King and Maxwell team is Edgar Roy (Ryan Hurst). He joined their team after Sean King served as his lawyer during his highly publicized criminal case. Edgar is a high-functioning autistic savant who specializes in patterns and numerical sequences. He has certain work-space requirements, like sitting at a “friendly” desk and enjoying soup for lunch on Mondays.
Episode #10 — Pandora’s Box
Sean’s investigation of the Ritter assassination threatens to end his partnership with Michelle as she considers returning to the Secret Service. The shocking truth sends Sean back to the scene of the crime to prevent history from repeating itself.
First aired: August 12, 2013.
What do you think? Do you like the King & Maxwell TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
What a disappointment. Love the show and think the cast is superb. Maybe David should follow Michael Connelly and his Harry Bosch to Amazon instant videos.
I agree, I loved this show and I’m sick they’ve cancelled it in favor of the usual inanity. I was really looking forward to the second season. Could they try another network?
I agree with Terri – the networks fill up air time with inane, so-called “reality” shows that bear no more resemblance to reality than cartoons and are less entertaining by far. If TNT had bothered to promote this series it might have made them some money. As it is, I stumbled upon it by accident through YouTube. These two are some of Baldacci’s best characters (not that he’s written any bad ones) and the series deserved top promotion. It’s a pity that it was not renewed and shame on the network for not giving it the promotion it deserved.
Here we go again! What is it with Corp tv people? They bring back crap such as the stupid reality shows: Survivor, etc., Please! The Bachelor? The Bachlorette, please. Who cares. Bring this back. David Baldacci is a super author and King & Maxwell are one of his best character series. PLEEEEEZE bring back K&M NOW!!!!!
This was a great adaption of the books and should have continued
as a series.
I am so in agreement with you. Loved the show. Thought everyone had great chemistry. So tired of crap being renewed and quality shows being cancelled.
This was an entertaining show. I guess bashing heads in with baseball bats sells more heroic medicine. It is clear the networks care nothing for fans.
I watch this series the second time round and really enjoyed it. I kept saying I would watch it when it was first showing and wish I had! The problem I think was this series wad not projected to the viewing public correctly. The advert did inspire interest but it did not quite make the make that the viewing public wad not made to ‘have to watch it’ such a shame very goodviewing with humour intrigue snd a wanting to see the next story line. Hope another channel picks this up.
Love this show!
Should never been cancelled. I guess bashing heads in with baseball bats sells more heroic medicine. Net works have no class.
We liked the show an looked forward to it each week! They should bring it back. We don’ t watch all those stupid reality or zombie shows!!
I LOVE this show!!! Why do they always cancel the good ones!!!!
I love this show!! Why do they always cancel the good ones?
I am so disappointed that this show is cancelled. I thought this show had great characters and I am a fan of Baldacci’s books. I really wish they would reconsider their decision.
I loved this show! Sad it ended.
Because the people running TV are idiots. They either cancel good shows before they can establish themselves or change the night they are shown, so a viewer base is never established
Truer words were never spoken, Steve. The networks seem to think we’re all idiots. There are people that seem to like “reality” TV, but I’m not one of them and there should be a few more shows for people who want to see some actual creativity on the air. This was one of them, and yet, they cancelled it.
My husband and I loved king and maxwell. I don’t understand why it was cancelled????!!!!
why do the good shows get cancelled. great chemistry with all the actors.
