While it’s still associated with (and carries) science-fiction programming, Syfy also runs fantasy dramas and the like. Enter the new Krypton TV show. Is this superhero drama a good fit for the Syfy audience? Will Krypton be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
Based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Krypton is a Superman prequel from executive producers David S. Goyer and Cameron Welsh. The Syfy TV series stars Cameron Cuffe, Shaun Sipos, Blake Ritson, Georgina Campbell, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Aaron Pierre, and Ian McElhinney. Unfolding 200 years before the destruction of Superman’s home planet, the story centers on Kal-El’s grandfather, Seg-El (Cuffe). Seg is faced with the starkest of choices. He can either save Krypton, or allow its destruction, in order to protect the fate of his future grandson.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

What do you think? Do you like the Krypton TV series? Should this Syfy TV show be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

Please keep Krypton for 2 season it can hold show Jor-El grow and Seg-El can next Jor-El
I love the show keep it
i truly hope they renew krypton it deserves a second season
Definitely renew!!!!! Krypton is a great show!!!
I hate getting interested in a show….only to see it cancelled.
Krypton is certainly worth renewing…the characters are the key and, for the most part, you care about what happens to them…rare for a sci-fi series
I love this tv show. Hoping for a season 2
Krypton is an awful, childish show. Whoever the director is has no idea how to add depth to a show, and the idea that it’s the same style as GoT is a joke. None of the actors are bad actors, but the way it’s directed makes it feel very, very childish. This is why the ratings are dropping. Supergirl isn’t this childish, Smallville wasn’t this childish, and Lois and Clark wasn’t this childish. It feels like the demo they’re aiming for is five year olds.
These ratings are dropping fast. Wow
Krypton is a great show. I’ve never been a huge Superman fan, but I’ve enjoyed the drama, characters, and discovering Krypton. It’s making a fan out of me. I hope it gets renewed.
Hear Hear.
Renew
great show but why does it air so late?
Krypton has been cancelled. Well not publicly, but still. Just so you know.
I doubt it. Unless something drastic happens, it will probably get renewed. It has the highest ratings on the network.
Krypton is worse than all the collective progressive cucks on earth..
Krypton trailers promised big revelations re Krypton history. Here are my shocking predictions: Braniac shrinks the City of Kandor. Seg restores the name of EL. He overthrows the current regime. A new council is established. He marries or shacks up & has a son named Jor-El. He becomes a leader of the Science Guild. He predicts Krypton will explode. Council ignores him. Jor-El prepares rocket for Kal-El & sends him to earth as Krypton explodes. Kal-El is adopted by Kents & becomes Superman. An orange haired billionaire becomes President. Discovers Supes is 25%+- black. Declares Supes is an illegal alien… Read more »
Now that was funny. Except I couldn’t figure out what orange haired person was a billionaire.
Lex
I don’t know if you are kidding or not. But, if you are. It’s Lex Luthor he is talking about. No, but seriously. It’s Donald Trump if you haven’t yet guessed.
I like the show so far and will continue to watch.
Honestly, we were not impressed with the pilot. Whose bright idea was it to have everyone speaking with a British accent? Nobody ever gave me the impression that everyone in Krypton spoke that way. The script was boring and banal. We found it derivative and not in a good way. Will watch one more episode before giving up, but overall, disappointed so far.
What’s wrong with the British accent??? It makes more sense then say your REGULAR ‘American’ accent..What I had a problem with was the the ‘Zod” family being African American and Segy-El was of ‘Mixed’ heritage..Doesn’t LOOK right as the El family or Superman’s grandfather..The rest of the El family certainly looks fine compared to Kal-El grandfather..That was my problem with the show, NOT the accent..The accent was a welcome, actually..Shows sophistication/knowledge etc..Yeah, it’s cliche/superficial but it works..Krypton is supposedly VERY advance even compared to other Alien races so, an “American” accent just won’t do..Sorry to say…The show was ok..Not great..The… Read more »
I would say look up Val-Zod from the comics. I like what they are doing with the Zod family. They have always been hinted as a family duty-bound.
I’m going to give it time to develop. Krypton world seems like Blade Runner with political intrigue. Plus who doesn’t want to see something do Doomsday right and murder baby Doomsday over and over
Yes I agree! I really like The Zod family and the whole doomsday aspect is intriguing. It’s like watching the last days of Pompeii. There’s a clock slowly ticking.
Except this clock will take 200 years to go off.
I don’t think the Zods are African-American as neither Africa nor the Americas exist on Krypton. Nothing says humanoids living under a red star have to have any particular color of skin as most likely skin pigmentation is a result of other factors instead of the UV rays of a yellow sun. I don’t even think the actors playing the Zods are African-American. I think they are British.
british is a nationality, african american is what americans call the people of african decent living there. very different things.
Well, to clarify. Zods are white skinned people, yet played by black skinned actors/actresses. That’s what all the commotion is about. I too, was blatantly mad about this. But, as the story went on and the characters developed. I actually like the Zod family and didn’t mind the skin colours.
@Rex the Wonder Dog, We know that most Martians have black like features hence why they are 99% of the time played by black people. I would be pissed off if a white man played Martian Manhunter, unless he played a Martian that looked similar to a white man’s feature, then that’s fine. I would definitely be mad if a black man played Superman, unless he was from Earth two. Then, go wild.
This show thematically has a socio-political religious sub-plot so race and ethnicity are not major themes in this DC Comics Universe. I do understand that you want characters to resemble their origin for continuity sake.
Except in 1938 none of these characters would have every been depicted as anything other than European. That was the result of racism. There is no other way to fix that than to add characters who are not all European looking.
key word add. changing characters isnt the same.
This story was created in the hate filled racism of 1938 when strange fruit was a command occurrence in America. And yet they were supposed to be aliens living on a foreign planet thus none of them were supposed to be European or African or American, or even Earthlings for that matter. You’re seeing “race” and want to keep the supremacy that racism created. But the only way to remove the strain of racism, is to redo characters that are not all one “race”. Let’s never use “the way it’s always been” to continue the racist environment this story was… Read more »
Could this be just one part of the Zod family, with there being other non African-American looking Zods to keep in line with continuity, especially since the families could be really really big or the rankless could be elevated to their house? Just a thought.
KNEEL BEFORE ZOD.
Ahhh, yes ma’am… *flicks tongue*
I’m interested so far, hoping it is not cancelled. But since I do like it, and given every other show I’ve liked, it will be.
Cest la vie.
I don’t think so. Dr strange specifically said that Zod is from his time and supermans enemy.
Quite a lot of Krypton is filmed in Northern Ireland, Belfast – being part of Britain, British actors are on tap.
It is a good cast, believe me, apart from the odd one or two.
Krypton was neither full of accents from USA, I believe the inhabitants of Krypton cumminicated telepathically & you could not speak to a higher member of the Olaktorüc order without prior permission from the Governance of Tharg & the Thargator Development Commission of Kalgar.
