The end is near. HBO has announced that the third and final season of The Leftovers TV show will premiere Sunday, April 16, 2017 at 9:00pm ET/PT. The mystery drama comes from Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta. Watch a “first look” video after the jump.
The Leftovers stars Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, Kevin Carroll, Christopher Eccleston, Scott Glenn, Lindsay Duncan, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Janel Moloney, Margaret Qualley, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Liv Tyler, and Chris Zylka. Season three of this HBO series was filmed on location in Texas and Australia.

While The Beach Boys croon, “Don’t Worry Baby,” the teaser features the characters peering up in the air. Their expressions of resolve and curiosity dissolve into concern and even fear. When the camera pans to the sky, it reveals a message: “The end is near.”
In The Leftovers, season three, the Garvey and Murphy families will come together in search of a belief system which can help them understand what’s going on.
HBO says, “The world is crackling with the energy of something big about to happen, a corresponding bookend to the Sudden Departure that sent them all spinning years earlier, bringing their journey Down Under.”
