While the second season of Legend of the Seeker is still airing, a significant decision has already been made about the possibility of season three.
Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series about a young woodsman (Craig Horner) who discovers he is actually destined to be a heroic Seeker. The series also stars Bridget Regan, Bruce Spence, Craig Parker, and Kevin J. Wilson.
The show is produced by ABC Studios and airs in syndication, primarily running on stations owned by the Tribune Company. The show debuted on November 1, 2008 and was renewed for second season after just 10 episodes had aired.
Season two kicked off on November 7, 2009 and now, after 13 episodes have aired, Tribune has decided they’ve had enough. According to KsiteTV and a representative of Tribune, the show’s ratings haven’t been good enough for them to renew Legend of the Seeker for season three.

While ABC has not made an announcement that the show has been cancelled, the Tribune Company represents a large percentage of stations that carry the series. ABC will have to do a lot of legwork to get it picked up by enough other stations.
The big questions are if the ratings are good enough for other stations to want to pick up the show and if the revenue will warrant ABC keeping the show going.
Co-Executive Producer Mike Sussman isn’t ready to give up just yet. Yesterday, he twittered a photo his show’s hero with his favorite Mark Twain quote, “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
The remaining episodes of season two kick off on March 20th.
What do you think? Should Legend of the Seeker survive to see a third season?

I just happened to stumble on this show on a random Saturday afternoon and fell in love with it. It’s the dream fantasy show. I feel like I’ve been waiting for a show like this for a long time. It’s a great show. It’s full of action and romance, something for everyone. Who wouldn’t fall in love with it? I love the breathtaking scenery and setting. It makes you look forward to each episode every week. There’s great chemistry between the characters and actors. The actors are wonderful and so believable as their characters. I really hope this show isn’t… Read more »
This show is too good to cancel. If the SyFy network can rescue “Merlin,” perhaps it could do the same for “Legend of the Seeker.”
I had not even heard of this show until I saw it as a suggestion on Netflix. After one episode my husband and I were hooked. It is a great show, and I wish more had been done to promote it…if I had known about it before Netflix, I would have tuned in a long time ago. Please renew for a 3rd season!
I’m one of those who JUST discovered it and was furiously catching up on the backstory. And damn! Now this. I think it just points to how obsolete the old ratings system is – it misses the way people now primarily view entertainment (via computer) and so misses counting that young demographic that they so want! Painfully ironic. The buzz on this show is growing every day. What bad timing to pull it now. Besides, for repeat syndication, I believe 3 seasons are required to “package” it? (I read that somewhere) – so I hope the producers are fighting to… Read more »
I’d really like to see the show continue. I read the first book in the series a while ago, and heard rumors of a TV show, but couldn’t find it anywhere.
I just recently stumbled across it late at night on Sunday and plan on continuing to watch it.
I think that legend of the seeker should definately be renewed for a third season, I have just seen the 16th episode of season 2 and am excited to see what happens in the future and I would feel that cancelling the show will be going against those who love the show already.
PLEASE, DONT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!! This is the best Medieval Fantasy show out there right now…What will we do without it?
We love this show and watch it every week! We will be devastated if it is not back for season 3! It is one of the best fantasy shows ever created!
I just finished reading the entire series a couple of days ago. It was good, but I’ve got to say, with what’s been happening on the series; with all the new twists and turns; I think that the T.V. series is on its way to surpassing the book series. I’m glad that they’ve decided to continue the T.V. series…as was stated a few messages ago.
Plz Plz Plz don’t cancel this show! It is AMAZING!! One of the best shows on televison!!!
Hello there,
I’m from Germany, where the show is broadcasted by a german TV Company.
All my friends and me love the show, since it has a very high standard of quality (be it acting, cutting or other criteria) that is unussual for Fantasy-TV-Series.
The production mustn’t stop for reasons, that aren’t related with the quality and enjoyability of the show, but rather by mishandling and mismanagement of the production.
I just discovered LEGEND OF THE SEEKER hidden away on Saturday nights and fell in LOVE with it. I am a SciFi fan, usually more into science fiction than Fantasy, but this show is at the top of my current tv list. The chemistry between the actors is amazing and the stories keep me waiting for the next episode. I was so disappointed when I heard it was being cancelled so I was happy to find out today that there might still be hope.
Hi i’m from Canada and for me this is one of the best shows on the air at this time, and seeing as it’s on a saturday… i really enjoy it normally you wouldn’t find quality programming like this, instead you wouldn’t have anything like this show on the weekend! they shouldn’t cancel this show!
Si. 3º Season.
This is far and away the best show airing on any station period. It’s really a shame that ABC and Tribune have done so little to promote it. If this show aired during the week in a primetime slot it’s ratings would skyrocket.
