The librarian has booked a new role. Deadline reports The Librarians star Noah Wyle has signed a deal to both write and direct for season three of the TNT series.
The show was renewed for a third season back in December.
Based on the TNT film series, The Librarians follows a group of experts who solve ancient mysteries and protect valuable historical artifacts. The series stars Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Kim, and John Larroquette.
In addition to writing an episode and directing two, Wyle will return as Flynn Carsen for seven episodes in the upcoming third season.
What do you think? Do you watch The Librarians? What do you hope happens in season three?
I’m glad the Librarians was renewed. I enjoy the different plots and like all the actors. However I think it’s the best when Noah Wyle shows up. The original Librarians was superb. Keep it up.
S excited to see not only a Season 3 but that Noah will be writing & doing some directing this comming season in addition to playing his character, Flyn! I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this series as much as I loved the Movie’s it was spun from! Can’t wait to see what new adventures our crew will be dealing with as well as the character Vanessa William’s will be playing too! Great addition in my opinion! I hope to see more seasons to come too!
Add Beth Riesgraf to the cast. She’s awesome!
Add Beth Riesgraf! She was AWESOME in Leverage!
Very happy that a studio decided to keep a show that entertains those of us who don’t care to watch reality tv. It is increasingly difficult to find quality shows and I was worried that they would not renew this as it may not appeal to the Bigfoot hunters. I love Noah, John and Rebecca. I wish there had been more Librarian movies so when I accidentally found the series while flipping through channels, I was ecstatic. It’s nice to know I’m not alone. We need more shows that make a person, young or old, want to read.
I love the show, but frankly, I love it more when the Noah Wyle character is NOT part of the story line.
Goodness, thank you for saying it. I feel like such a minority. The first two episodes where he was featured were torturous. I thought why on earth had I been excited about this shows return. As soon as he left it was fun, dynamic and engaging again. This happens every season when he guest appears. He just throws off the cast interaction massively. I’m not sure if it is his cartoonish acting on this particular series, but he disrupts the show and makes everything happening seem less likely and borderline ridiculous. When the others are given free reign without his… Read more »
LOVE, the show, we no longer get TNT, so I watch it on Hulu, and they are only currently streaming season 1, awaiting for them to release season 2…. thankful there will be a season 3…. LOVE all of the cast, I feel each one does what they are suppose to do, and do it well…. hoping there will be more seasons to come…. LOVE there is no cussing (can’t recall them cussing in the show), no nudity, a good show that I can sit down with my Grandchildren and watch….
I LOVE the show Librarians, we no longer have TNT, so I can only watch it on Hulu, and they have not released season 2 yet…. waiting for that, and am excited. Love all the actors/actress’s on the show, excited that there is a season 3, hoping there is more to come…
Librarians is the worst show on tv. The best part of it is Christian Kane he’s a good actor but even he isn’t up to par. John Kim is soooo bad Lindy Booth belongs in a cartoon Rebecca is awkard CAN’T act and is unlikable It would have been canceled after the first season if TNT didn’t have a part of it. The ratings are so bad.Noah Wyle will only make it worse. CANCEL IT
Then please don’t watch it, but to call for a show to be cancelled just based on your preference when there are MANY fans doesn’t make sense to me. I just discovered it this year and have only got to see Seasons 2-3, but since I’ve been missing Warehouse 13, Eureka, Leverage, Doctor Who I was so pleasantly surprised to find a show I would love binge watching again!! Please renew for a fourth season! With or without Noah Wylie, love it!
Love the character, love the show. But the tone seems to have missed the mark of the original 3 TV movies. Would love to see them go back to the ‘Indiana Jones’ cross magic style storylines.
Devlin, et al, have been pretty good at surprising me so far. The direction that Season Two took was novel, pun intended. Some character development added depth to the new Librarians. Expect to see a revisit by Morgan La Fey who showed up in one episode of Season One and has been mentioned in several episodes. And the return of Beth Riesgraf as the “Lady in the Lake” is presumed. With 15 episodes scheduled for Season Three, they’ll have more opportunities not only to spin a longer thread for the season plot line, but to further expand the characters, add… Read more »
I love The Librarians, and I love Noah Wyle as Flynn Carsen! Can hardly wait to see the episode that he’s writing!
