Sometimes the truth hurts — especially when it comes to television ratings. After three seasons, FOX has cancelled Lie to Me.
Starring Tim Roth, Lie to Me revolves around Cal Lightman and members of The Lightman Group. They’re a team of specialists who help law enforcement agencies uncover the truth by using applied psychology. Others in the cast include Kelli Williams, Brendan Hines, Monica Raymund, Hayley McFarland, and Mekhi Phifer.
Last season, Lie to Me averaged a 2.9 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 8.03 million total viewers. That was down from season one and the series found itself on the bubble for renewal. FOX ended up giving the TV series another chance and renewed it for 13 episodes.
Unfortunately, season three didn’t perform nearly as well as season two. It premiered last October to a 2.1 rating in the demo and 5.86 million. Viewership eroded in subsequent weeks and FOX declined to give the show a full season order. Lie to Me then hit a new series low in January, registering a meager 1.5 rating and 5.43 million viewers.

In its final weeks on the air, viewers seemed to rally behind it and Lie to Me had its best ratings of the season — a 2.5 in the demo and 7.67 million.
Though the ratings had come way down, FOX execs claimed that they still valued the TV series and saw it as a solid utility player. Showrunner Alex Cary said, “Fox has been very clear with us — they know what the show is, they know what it can do. [The ratings bump] shows that people will come watch the show.”
Now, after three seasons on the air, the series is over. FOX has officially cancelled Lie to Me after 48 episodes. All of the installments have aired. Though there are too few episodes for a traditional syndication package, the first two seasons have already been released on DVD.

please bring this programme, I looked forward to Thursdays nights at 10 and never missed an episode. I want Gillian and Cal to get together. The supposed finale was not one, a very limp ending. I also loved Fringe and understand why that never came back as it was a conclusion, this was not a conclusion or a natural ending. I couldn’t believe it when the message came over it was the last ever episode and went straight to sky never miss. So disappointed.
PLEASE BRING THE SHOW BACK!!!! The show is amazing!!!!! 96% of the votes want them back! Please make season 4 and more. I miss the show so much and it ended without a finale. I love he the cast can tell who is lying or not and there is no show like it. Bring the show back.
I have know what happens next!!! Does Cal listen to Em and try his chances with Gillian??? What about the new worker dude from the streets? There simply has to be more!!!! Why do they always cancel the best shows??? At very least move them to air late at night or in the early afternoon… I miss Cals smart remarks and boldness already!!!!

I love Love the series Lie to Me!so does both my parents.The series should have never been cancelled.

This is a show that deserves to come back … I don’t know … bring back the wife … place “Gillian” Kelli Williams in a coma, or “Em” Hayley McFarland … Get “Ria” Monica Raymund pregnant by “Loker” Brendan Hines that had something on season 3 (not sure of the season almost sure) … Or put new faces in the show or invite big stars (altough the theme of the show DOESN’T need big stars) … Real NetFlix or Fox or anyother network is really making a big mistake if the don’t bring it back and if you DOOOOO?!?!?!?! Please bring lie to me back. I have a hard time getting into shows because they turn so boring after a while and forget watching reality TV – can’t stand most of those shows – but this one had always held my attention. I Watch it on Netflix. Maybe you can sell the rights to make more through the companies who use Netflix to produce shows? Or even amazon. I have been watching it on Netflix and absolutely lived season 1. However towards the end of season 2 Dr Lightman started to get creepy. The way he just abruptly ended the contract with the FBI, and then his weird relationship with the female officer…there was no chemistry between them. By the 3rd or 4th episode of season 3i couldn’t watch any more. When he saw the blonde in the hospital waiting room and stared at her like a total creep…then he moved Torres out of the way by creepily caressing her face/neck…they just turned him into a perverted sex… Read more »

Bring back lie to me! Its not fair that it ends at season 3. This is one of the best shows that i watched in a long time!
