The Limitless TV show on CBS is likely to be cancelled. According to a Deadline report, the show is being shopped around. The Limitless season one finale aired April 26, 2016. Whether or not it ends up being the Limitless TV series finale remains to be seen.
On Limitless, when slacker Brian Finch (Jake McDorman) is given the drug NZT-48, it activates 100% of his brainpower. Since his has total recall of anything he has learned in his life, either actively or passively, the FBI wants to use him to help solve crimes. The Feds aren’t the only ones interested in exploiting Brian and the drug. The Limitless cast also includes: Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Hill Harper, and Colin Salmon.
In the first season of Limitless, the hour-long drama’s ratings have been somewhat wanting. The show averaged a 1.34 in the 18-49 year-old viewer ratings demographic and attracted an average total audience of 7.049 million viewers. When sorted by the 18-49 demo, Limitless ranks 13th out of the 24 CBS scripted series we’re tracking in the 2015-2016 television season. In terms of total audience size, it is ranked 19th out of 24.
In an earlier report, prior to hearing that Limitless is being shopped around to other prospects, Deadline said:
Limitless, which is fully owned by CBS, is considered 50-50 at best and does not look very promising at the moment. It is a recognizable title that makes money for the studio internationally, comes from Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, and is part of the network’s push into attracting younger audiences on the hourlong side that also has included Scorpion, already renewed for next season, and Supergirl.
What do you think? Did you watch the first season of the Limitless TV series on CBS? If CBS cancels Limitless, would you follow it to another network?
Just great… Are all the networks on a “let’s cancell the good stuff” binge this week?
Tired of dumb reality shows like the Bachelor, Bachelorette, etc. No wonder people turn to Netflix, HULU and cable. #OldDaysOfTV are gone.
Kinda makes me wish there were still just 4 channels available. At least back then THE SIGNAL WAS, get this, F R E E!
Please renew – this is a great show!!! The actors are good and moral dilemmas very real!!!
I’m so disgusted if this is cancelled. So many shows that were HORRIBLEwith no type of originality were renewed. I’ll order Netflix if it goes there. Really horrible borderline insane move on CBS’ part.
Very good show!!
Renew renew…..!
Like Forever before it, a smart, quirky show with a top notch cast being abandoned. What will replace it ANOTHER NCIS or CSI??? Like anyone needs that. Boooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clever, smart, well-acted, maybe too clever and smart for CBS? This could have been a netflix winner. Rats rats rats rats rats.
Such an interesting show. Please don’t cancel it!
This show is much better and has just as many viewers of some of some of the real dogs they did renew. So, what want they renew this?
I liked it enough that I would follow it to where ever it lands. IMHO, it was a lot better than some of these other shows on TV.
I don’t care what channel it aires on, but I NEED TO SEE LIMITLESS!!!! This show is way too awesome to not continue, and if they do not continue onto season two they will be making a HUGE MISTAKE!!!! Brian Finch is AMAZING!!!!
Both my sister and I really enjoyed watching Limitless. Its a unique show and entertaining. We really hope its renewed for a 2nd season!
What I don’t get is CBS claimed to be trying to attract younger viewers with Super Girl and Limitless, yet they moved SG to the CW, the network they co-own with Warner Bros., and are considering canceling Limitless.
Amen to that
SG should have been on CW from the start. f
CBS better do something on the fate of their respective shows like Limitless, Code Black, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and The Odd Couple. Have a feeling Rush Hour won’t survive and the network doesn’t have the guts to cancel the TV version of the Jackie Chan-Chris Tucker flick.
I hope this show does get cancelled, it ruined Person of Interest! If it had been cancelled earlier on Person of Interest might have stood a chance for renewal – even currently season 5 is doing better with same day viewers than the season average of Limitless.
Everyone knew that season 5 was going to be the final season either way with its ratings
The ratings weren’t too bad a year ago, higher than most crap on CBS, even though they were declining.
“I hope Limitless gets canceled because PoI was effectively canceled last year when it was decided it would return for a shortened final season, but darn it, I have to blame something other than PoI even though Limitless hadn’t even premiered yet when the decision was made.”
Sure, dude. Seems legit.
