Based on the “Walt Longmire” mystery novels by Craig Johnson, Longmire has been a very successful TV series for A&E in the ratings. Will that trend continue? Will the show be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned!
Longmire follows the life of a Wyoming county sheriff who’s returned to work following his wife’s demise. With the support of his family and co-workers, he solves cases and works to stay in office. The cast includes Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Bailey Chase, Adam Bartley, Cassidy Freeman, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
8/28 update: Longmire has been cancelled by A&E after three seasons. However…
11/19 update: Netflix has picked up the series for a fourth season.
Final season averages: 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.52 million total viewers.

For comparisons: The second season of Longmire attracted a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.7 million total viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers and are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
There are so few good shows on TV nowadays. Longmire brings it in a big way. Great actors, writers…and the location …. the American West. If A&E lets this go, then I do not know what it takes to keep a good show on the air.
This is truly a wonderful, well – acted series that I look forward to. The story lines are always interesting. Do not cancel this show! It should be renewed for a 4th season. It is easy to see that the actors play off of each other and, as a result, have a charisma that translates to the audience. Please renew it!!!
Thank goodness for this show…only one I watch ever….
This is one of the best shows on t.v. I hope is stays around for a long time!
This show is one of the best out there. I love it. The writing is incredible and the characters are the best. (even the ones I love to hate). Knowing Longmire is on Monday night, is the only motivation, to keep up with the rest of the day. Knowing I can go home, chill out and watch Longmire.
who was the 6-30-2014 Wanted in memory of?

Great series. We need more like Longmire. Great cast and story line.
Cast is superb. Story lines are also superb. Please this program on tv for as long as possible. It is one of the few programs that does not use filthy language and my family can watch it together without embarassment. Thank you.
Best show on TV.
One of the very best shows on tv. Wish more people knew it existed, but i have yet to tell anyone about it who has ever heard of it previously. Dreadful promotion by A&E. No wonder viewership is all but non-existent. It doesn’t reflect the great storytelling, acting, and directing.
I agree dreadful promotion by A&E. Longmire is the only thing on watch on A&E. Luckily I discovered this from the beginning and have been spreading the word. Saying viewership is non-existent is a bit harsh though. It’s in the 3.5 to 4 million total viewer range which isn’t bad for a cable show especially since it’s on A&E which is a strike against it. Longmire’s ratings kept up with and in some cases greatly surpassed Breaking Bad and Mad Men which seemed to get a lot of buzz and media attention everyone seemed to rave about.
