TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Is the part of Lizzie Ambrose (played by Katherine LaNasa) going to return for Season 3? I liked her character.
I just finished season 2 on netflix in one day. Please tell me they are making season 3. The cast is amazing. The stories are compelling. So many shows take a while to find their footing but this group has been crazy sharp from the get go. It is funny that Walt and Vic are played by two actors known for such huge science fiction stories and yet this show is the very definition of down to earth. I have a few litmus tests in my life for people I meet. Are they kind to animals? Do they ever refer… Read more »
Absolutely there is a Season 3. Starts June 2 on A&E. 9pm CSDT. My DH & I cannot wait.
I LOVE your “litmus” tests. Perfect. Especially the kind to animals one. *grins*.
Enjoy Season 3 of “our” Walt.
love this show please keep it going
please do not cancel this show. you already canceled The Glades, which was a bit of fluff, but entertaining, at least.
The endless reruns of Storage Wars just shows your lack of imagination in programing. Keeping Longmire at LEAST gives us hope for whomever is making those decisions. DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW. This is a great combination of characters that work well together, and the casting is great.
great program need more like it
I LOVE this show…please keep it on!
Love the show Longmire. I have been looking for it in my TV guide for weeks. Good to know I can watch it come June 2nd.
Please keep the show on. I loved it. Felt it was so entertaining. Loved the cast.
Totally love man. Who doesn’t! But the story lines are great, nice slow pace Love all the cast, following Lou Diamond Philips for years, so glad his back. The almost country side is so beautiful to see again,I have been there several times, my kind of place.
The show is real, seems they can’t make TV shows any more without all the ugly words somethings kids can watch and know there is another side of lift. Please, Please keep him coming back. Who ever thought of this show is all some. Keep these kind of shows coming.
Love It!
My husband and I and my 91 year old Mother love Longmire. It is one of the best TV shows that has been on in a long time. We hate 98% of those stupid “Reality” shows; there is so much cursing that half the show is bleeped out. I know most of them are fake and the why people watch them are beyond me. I do get a TV Guide every week and read it, so I do know what is going on in TV Land! I do, however like a couple of Reality shows but Longmire holds our interest… Read more »
I like Longmire so much. Please don’t cancel it. There are a lot of things that can be done with the show. Get good writers and keep the show going!
I think its refreshing to have a show about law enforcement that is not is a big city or a resort town. I like the idea of the small town setting and that it shows that the things going on in out back country is just as exciting as anywhere else. I my opinion This IS the best show that anyone has aired in a long time. You have to pay attention to what is going on and to what people say in order to keep up. And a side point, I am sick and tired of reality shows. I… Read more »
Ya’ll are really making a huge mistake canceling these shows that have been mentioned. I agree with all the other comments. Just because the ratings are a little low, you have to think about all the other programs coming on at the same time and how their rating are doing. When you do, I ‘ll bet you will find their ratings are not any higher. You might try changing nights and, or airing times. These shows really shouldn’t be canceled, especially for what’s taking their place. I for one have already stopped watching channel because of the shows already canceled. If you… Read more »
Really enjoyed Longmire and The Glades please put them back on
Although based in a fictional Wyoming county, Longmire is as real as it gets. The episodes portray how real people have to work at life. The issues are complex, the acting is top drawer, the scripting is well crafted. I look forward to each new episode the same way I anticipated each episode of Gunsmoke. Don’t lose this one, it is a winner.
