TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
My husband and I love Longmire. Of course we live about an hour a way from the Wyoming border. The characters in both the books and the show are real to life. I hoe it continues for a very long time!
Great show, please keep it coming. Can’t wait till next season.
Do not cancel. I am getting so sick of all the networks starting shows and then suddenly canceling them right in the middle of the plot. It makes me want to stop watching any TV shows that have a continuous plot of any kind. Just stick with movies that have an ending.
This is a great show. Old school still works just fine. Now that we know who killed Longmire’s wife and Branch my be dead there is plenty of new storeys to unfold.
Please keep it on the air!
Aw come on, I’m just getting caught up. All my friends and family watch and told me to watch too. You have to keep going with new episodes. Best show on Monday evening.
Great show. Can’t wait for Monday night. Hope they don’t cancel the show. It would be a mistake.
One of the best shows on TV! Great characters (thanks to Craig Johnson), the best actors to fit those roles, and a storyline that could hold an audience for a lot longer than the 12 (+?) episodes offered. We agree with Mommaconz…quality and we, too, hope Branch got his Dad before his Dad got him!!! Longmire is at the TOP of a very short list of reasons we keep DirectTV…or even watch TV at all! We’re tough critics who have been around long enough to recognize the good from the waste-of-time-and-intelligence crap that’s all over the place today. PLEASE, A&E,… Read more »
I LOVE the Longmire series! It’s the best thing by far on TV. The acting, scenery, dialogue, storyline, musical score is outstanding! This is my third season watching and I’m bummed out to wait now until next summer to see more. Please don’t cancel this excellent series.
FANTASTIC Show. Please Please do not cancel it!!!!!!!!
I love Longmire..Please renew for at least one more season .There are too many questions that need answers..Does Branch die ? Does Walt kill Nighthorse..Does he ever find out Branch’s dad was responsible for his wife’s death? Please don’t leave all this hanging!! Best series since First season of NCIS.
Excellent show with a diverse cast. Branch is one of.my favorite characters.
I look forward to next season.
Longmire is quality TV. If A&E cancels they are making a big mistake. The characters compliment each other and make the show outstanding. Just watched Season 3 finale. Please don’t kill off Branch.
In this world of “reality television/15 minutes of fame” attention hungry shows, LONGMIRE is a refreshing escape. It has a satisfying balance of suspense, entertainment and beautiful scenery. The writers and actors ‘get it’. The characters are portrayed to perfection by the actors and true to the books. It will be a loss if A&E cancels this series. It all boils down to money. Hopefully Longmire will prove its “worth” to the A&E bean counters and Walt will live to fight another day. The extra long gap in time between Seasons must be considered when looking at viewer numbers. Building… Read more »
If A&E cancels Longmire that is it for me. A&E puts on obnoxious dribble like Big Smo and Duck Dynasty and is even considering cancelling Longmire?!!!!! Believe it or not A&E – some of your viewers have BRAINS. I was pissed with The Glades cancellation. I will be livid if you take on Longmire. It is the best show on TV handsdown.
This is a great show. PLEASE, PLEASE renew it for season 2015.
