FX plans to bring their Louie back for a sixth season but it doesn’t sound like the TV series will be returning anytime soon.
At the Television Critics Association press tour, FX Networks CEO John Landgraf told reporters that Louie creator/star Louis C.K. will be taking an “extended hiatus” from producing the series while he focuses on other projects. They include new series Better Things and Baskets, plus a third that will be announced soon.
Langraf indicated that C.K. could take a six month or even two year haitus and noted, “It’s going to be his choice. He has made 61 incredible episodes of television.”
The CEO likened this relationship to the one that HBO has with Larry David and his Curb Your Enthusiasm series. When C.K. wants to return to make more episodes of Louie, FX will air them.
What do you think? Do you like the Louie TV show? Are you hoping that a sixth season is eventually made?
I wish he’d return and create more seasons of Louie, this fascinating show. It’s unfair to curb his job forever. Although he did wrong but he did it with consent.
Yes PLEASE BRING THIS SERIES BACK FOR MANY MORE SEASONS.
Louis is the best written show on TV bar none. I am saddened that it might never return. It is a testament to the talent of Louis CK.
Yes I love this ****** show. I truly hope they bring this motherfucker back. Louie is da ****.
Louis CK set the stage for Louie. I loved every minute of it but I trust him implicitly. If he wants to do something else I support him and will watch that too. I would love to see a season 6 but what can I say? I’m a fanboy, and if he has other interests…I’ll follow them. The only person that can give life such a verbatim account of all its up’s and down’s, you bet your ass I’m gonna follow it. This man understands life at its core. Louis CK represents what 95% of my generation experiences on a… Read more »
louie is the ****, it has lot’s of humour but it’s basically the best show on tv.straight up. even rick and morty is 2nd best to this one.
Bob R: I imagine a lot of things are way beyond you.
Indeed. Ha ha.
Odd; I feel exactly the opposite. “Louie” has been the best thing he’s ever done, as far as I’m concerned. He’s a great at stand-up, but the series captures life like a guy standing on a stage talking into a mic will never be able to match.
I love the show. Is different, kind of cerebral, with some occasional magic realism added. I fully understand why some people don’t like it; but I’m not one of them. I’ve Always believed the perfect place for the series was HBO or Showtime, but if FX wants it, so be it.
Louie is at his best doing standup, where he is the only player and thus able to showcase his unique mix of cerebral + ROF humor. Unfortunately, this series did not measure up and apparently Louie knows that. Now if he can just get the folks at FX to see the light.
What are you talking about? Louis adores this show, he ******* writes, directs, produces, and stars in it, it’s his ******* baby! The show will stay on if people keep watching, his passion to the show remains clear even if you are not a fan of it, he clearly is, and I am as well
Why some people think this is a funny show is Waaaaaaaaaay beyond me.
@Bob R: It’s not supposed to be funny. It is frequently humorous, but if you’re looking for pure comedy, look elsewhere.
Not a comedy more a serious drama with comedy as an added bonus. An intellectual show is perhaps not your cup if tea.
