It looks like we have the first cancellation of the season. CBS is pulling Made in Jersey from the schedule effective immediately, after airing just two episodes.
Made in Jersey follows a young lawyer (Janet Montgomery) from New Jersey who uses her street smarts to make waves at an upscale New York law firm. The show also features the talents of Kyle MacLachlan, Felix Solis, Stephanie March, Toni Trucks, Donna Murphy, Erin Cummings, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Drew Beasley, and Alexandra Socha.
The first episode drew a disappointing 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.82 million viewers, lower numbers than last season’s A Gifted Man ever hit. Last Friday’s installment dropped 27% in the demo to a 0.8 rating with 6.78 million.
These terrible numbers have prompted the network to pull Made in Jersey from the schedule. CSI: NY will fill its timeslot effective immediately. For the next three weeks, CBS will air NCIS and Hawaii Five-0 reruns at 8pm. Then, on November 2nd, the fourth season of Undercover Boss will take over.
There’s no word on when or if CBS will run the remaining episodes of Made in Jersey. The network’s previous ratings disappointment, the 3 reality series, was also pulled after two episodes and the network released the remaining episodes online.
Here’s the press release from CBS that highlights the schedule changes:

While working alongside their employees, they see the effects their decisions have on others, where the problems lie within their organizations and get an up-close look at both the good and the bad while discovering and rewarding the unsung heroes who make their companies run.
UNDERCOVER BOSS is produced by Studio Lambert, Ltd. Stephen Lambert, Eli Holzman and Chris Carlson are executive producers.

What do you think? Did you like the Made in Jersey TV series? Are you sorry that the show has been cancelled?
[…] UPDATE: CBS has cancelled Made in Jersey after two episodes. […]
[…] you probably already know, CBS has cancelled Made in Jersey after two airings. The ratings were quite bad, even for a Friday night TV series and the network […]
I liked it. It had potential. That being said, the first thing I told my Hubby when I saw it was being run up against Fringe and Grimm… “Why did they bother filming a single episode?” Even WB figured out that this timesslot is for supernatural shows with their new take on Beauty and the Beast. I think the show had some quirks to work out, however the show could have gone somewhere had they been given a better night and timeslot. The only good news of this show going away is that with it, and later Fringe being taken… Read more »
Ahh…..not happy. Any remaining episodes in the can willprobably got to Saturday nights for fill ins.
the actress mumbled her lines to much. she stressed the jersey accent so much that if that were her real accent that it seemed fake or as if she were mocking the accent. I wasnt fully invested in the charcter like i am usually am after two or three episodes of a CBS drama. friday just isnt a good spot for a new show that hasnt developed a fan base yet. it makes me wonder is CBS really had any faith in it in the first place.
I’m telling you guys it was the title that killed this show. I couldn’t even read it without thinking “Jersey Shore” which sent me running the other direction. They should have titled it “Made in the Bronx” or something else.
Face it, anything with “Jersey” in the title right now is going to make people think of Snooky and the other idiot greaseballs. It’s the third rail of TV.

Not surprising. It wasn’t a good show and I wouldn’t even have watched it if it was on another night.
Jeremy – Show was awful, open your eyes
I was watching it the whole time, they were wide open, you should have seen them. It was a great show, I hope your new favorite show gets axed that I hate so I can s**t on it.
Well heck, I thought I was actually going to get to watch CSI:NY this season. Caught the last season in repeats over the summer due to CSI:NY being in the Friday 9pm death slot also occupied by Supernatural, Grimm, and Fringe — and there was no way I was missing any of those shows! Now I suppose I’ll have to hope they show CSI:NY over the summer again, since Nikita is coming back in the 9pm slot and there’s no way I’m giving up Fringe, Grimm, or Nikita. Geez, CBS, give me a break already.
they wouldn’t put it on another
I wish “Survivor” lasted only two episodes.
F**K you cbs, you suck so f**king much. Absolute bulls**t, they had absolutely no confidence in this show at all. They even put it on another night or at least put it on hiatus? Why the hell did they put it on Friday nights? It makes no sense, especially after a gifted man last fall. They never really cared about the show at all. It’s amazing: 2 Broke girls, excellent show, great ratings, Made in Jersey, excellent show, horrible ratings, I don’t get why more people didn’t catch on. WTFE, I watched it many times on cbs.com, I bought the… Read more »
