We have the first TV show cancellation of the 2014-15 season and Manhattan Love Story is the “winner” of the title. ABC has cancelled the new sitcom after four episodes.
Manhattan Love Story follows the members of an extended family from New York City as they navigate the pitfalls of their various relationships. Fortunately, only the audience is privy to their inner thoughts. The castmembers include Analeigh Tipton, Jake McDorman, Nicolas Wright, Jade Catta-Preta, Chloe Wepper, and Kurt Fuller.
The sitcom debuted on September 30th to a mediocre 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.7 million viewers. It wasn’t a very good start but the sitcom had no stars, little lead-in support, and was airing opposite two of the top-rated shows on television — The Voice and NCIS.

Unfortunately, the competition got even tougher in later weeks — and the ratings showed it. Love Story lost 40% of its audience in the demo in week two, held steady in week three and then dropped another 22% this week, falling to an unacceptable 0.7 in the demo and 3.3 million viewers.
Last week, ABC ordered some additional scripts for both Love Story and Selfie, an indication that they were’s ready to throw in the towel just yet. It seems that this week’s ratings were just too low.
The network has pulled the series from the schedule, effective immediately. Next week, a Halloween special will fill the 8pm hour. After that, pairs of episodes of companion series Selfie will fill the hour. That series isn’t doing much better and is almost sure to be cancelled as well.
ABC had ordered 13 episodes of Manhattan Love Story. It’s unclear how many were actually produced or if/when the network will release those that have been shot.

ABC you lost a winner in, “Manhattan Love Story!” This show was funny, sweet, romantic and full of clever writing coupled with great character development then rounded out by actors that could actually pull it off. It made me laugh and cry without being too sappy for my husband. It was my new favorite show, I was crushed when I watched the last episode, I really hope some smart network picks it up, then puts a little money in to advertising for it, which if ABC had been smart enough to do more viewers might have known about it. I loved this show. It never got a decent shot, you can’t cancel after 2 or 3 shows. Give it a better time slot. It’s the best new comedy of the season. Very sad.
They should have kept this show . There are a lot of other shows I would have cancelled.

We got hooked on Manhattan love story and saw it “on demand”. It is an adorable, sweet series and so funny. We saw all the episodes and will see the rest on Hulu. I agree. HBO should pick it up. We don’t get that channel but will consider it.
ABC needs to bring back the show, I was extremely upset knowing that one of my favorite shows was canceled, Manhattan love story was such a great series ! I could watch it over and over again! I honestly can’t understand how a great show like this has gotten canceled while many other shows can make the cut. Give Manhattan love story another chance ! Play it in a different day or at a different time where it’s not clashing with all the other popular tv shows like NCIS and THE VOICE and market the show a little more.
I think it should be picked up by HBO. It’s that good and HBO stands behind it’s creators. And look at how they clean up the awards.

I just recently watched all 11 episodes and I would have to say that canceling Manhattan Love Story was the worst I idea ABC has ever had. This show is a 5/5 to my family and Its hilarious, sweet, and different then other shows I’ve watched. I hope it gets renewed and I can finally be at peace.
It didn’t get a chance I was able to atleast watch the rest on Hulu. I agree tired of giving a show a fair chance to be cancelled but really after only 4 episodes….

Love the show! Not that many cute and sweet show like this one. It’s seem like Everytime when I fall in love with a new show, they’ll cancelled! Sometime I think what’s the point of watching new series in these days… It’ll end up cancelled anyway!…
I am devastated this show was cancelled. It seems every new show with promise is being cancelled lately. For example, the crazy ones. Great, original sitcom. Manhattan love story had the same promise. Some decent actors that weren’t the same old crap we always have to watch on television. Once again, I am very disappointed.

i absolutely loved manhattan love story and very much looked forward to it every tuesday it was aired-that’s why i looked it up today-i kept hoping it would come back on-i genuinely hope they bring it back-IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!
