Marco Polo is getting its first spin-off special. Recently, Netflix released a first look at the series’ upcoming feature, Marco Polo: Hundred Eyes.
The standalone special will debut on December 26th.
Marco Polo: Hundred Eyes will tell the origin story of one of the series’ more popular characters, Hundred Eyes. Played by Tom Wu, Hundred Eyes is a Taoist monk pledged to serve Kublai Khan (Benedict Wong). Wu will reprise his role in the feature alongside many of the characters from the series, including the titular Polo (Lorenzo Richelmy).
Marco Polo was renewed for a second season back in January. No word on a premiere date for the new season yet.

What do you think? Do you watch Marco Polo? Will you be watching the Hundred Eyes special?
I have been eagerly awaiting news of the series’ return. Hundred Eyes reminded me so much of the Master Po from the Kung Fu series with David Carradine: they didn’t need eyes to “see” everything. I wish Netflix would hurry up and get Season 2 out for binge-viewing.
