Earlier this season, NBC tried reviving the variety show format (sort of) with Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris. The show did okay in the ratings but the network cancelled it. Now, they’re trying another live variety show with Maya & Marty. Will this one do better in the ratings? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Executive produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, Maya & Marty is a live television variety show that features SNL veterans Maya Rudolph and Martin Short in various comedy sketches and musical numbers. Celebrity guests take part in both live and recorded segments.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
7/13 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Maya & Marty TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Love it!! Last week was hilarious.
Love this show !! Please renew!!!!!
Love it!!! Please renew!
Love this show! My son and I watch it together and laugh out loud! Please don’t cancel it! I don’t want to watch zombies eat peoples faces….I want and need the laughs!
I like Maya Rudolph. I like Martin Short. But about 40% of this show simply stinks each week! Come on, guys, you are much better than the show you’ve produced. Why is a prime time show during the summer allowed to produce results that are inferior to the late night talk shows and inferior to what Saturday Night Live usually puts on each week? This show does not have the class of Carol Burnett’s variety show or even Donny and Marie’s 70’s show. You’re offering is not even up to the Barbara Mandall’s show. Possibly you have too many sketches… Read more »
I love Maya and Marty. it’s the kind of show we need. People need to laugh, it’s pretty funny. There are too many unwholesome shows on tv. I am not interested in watching people get murdered or having sex. I watch Nickelodeon because I don’t li most of whats on tv. Keep it on
I love variety shows and it’s something we need in this generation I know you’re going by the young demographic point is I don’t understand the young all they do is walk around with their cell phones in their hands that being said few changes but the first show with Tom Hanks was great a little tweaking Try sketches like Jiminy Glick but different and repeat each week to see what happens next like with Carol Burnett. So you have something to look forward to. We need these kinds of shows for entertainment that’s why the game shows are being… Read more »
I don’t understand the old all they do is complain about the young, ruin the economy, drag us into unnecessary wars, vote for candidates they won’t live to see the effects of, say racist/sexist/homophobic things, and make no attempts to empathize with the younger generation while demanding to be catered to and respected for no other reason than being old. That being said, I agree about this show. It’s a breathe of fresh air with the influx of overbearing “gritty” dramas on television today. The lighthearted fun is genuine and everyone seems like they’re having a great time. And to… Read more »
It is a rehash of the very tired SNL. So, as a rehash, it is trash. It severely lacks on all respects. I am for the variety show, but this is not variety. If the Peacock is interested, contact me as i have an original idea within an original concept.
If you already feel SNL is tired, yiu certainly aren’t going to have a high opinion of this wonderful variety show. SNL has changed and grown and turned out some today’s best comics, actors and actresses. I applaud lorne michaels for his vision and hope thst he can have that same vision with this show…..back in the mid 70’s there was no competition for the late night newcomer SNL and it was pure genius. This show is as well, but it’s picked apart by critics and compared to the many other shows who ate literally on the chopping blotch from… Read more »
I like it! Maya and Marty are talented, engaging, versatile, and they have good chemistry. It’s refreshing to have a classic variety show back on prime time TV. Renew!
God awful show. Cancel this stupid mess! It is horrible and not funny at all. Just plain stupid. NBC should have known better. What were they thinking? Clearly the people that okayed this needs to be either educated or fired. NBC will never get ratings with garbage like this.
Quite possibly the worst comedy show I have watched. Kept watching episodes in hopes of finding something funny. Didn’t find anything funny. Not even all the big name guests can salvage this weak attempt at comedy. Won’t turn back in to this show again. Yaaawn…..
Totally agree! It is just awful and stupid and I expect you and I will be proven right soon when it is cancelled.
Cancel!
Fabulous! Best since the Carol Burnett show!
Please keep it classy and not trashy!
Carol was good for the era she was on. This show is garbage and needs cancelled fast. You will know I am right when it is cancelled soon.
To compare this show to Carol Burnett is simply absorb. If you really think so, then you did not watch the Queen of Comedy ever.
Love them both but it’s not gonna work on NBC with a laugh track…
They’ll run the six (or will they) and can it…
70% is filmed in front of a live audience just fyi.
The Rudolph/Short show is not done live.
It is absolutely done in front of a live audience…..of course its not shown live but neither is SNL….look it up….or watch all the shows and see the audience during some songs and skits.
