CBS hasn’t announced that Medium has been cancelled but, while attending an event last weekend, Patricia Arquette said that the show will indeed be ending this season.
Like her character, series star Arquette can indeed see the future. Now, Medium creator Glenn Gordon Caron has confirmed that the drama is finished. Of the last episode, Caron wrote, “Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on Medium Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink.”
The ratings for Medium have taken a real hit this season. Despite frequently winning its timeslot, the drama has averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.41 million viewers. CBS reduced the number of episodes to just 13 as a result.

This is terrible news! I will greatly miss watching Medium, but expect nothing less of the idiots who decided to air the Iron Bowl on the day after Thanksgiving. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
Sorry to hear it is cancelled. My daughter and I love to watch it together on Friday nights!
We were sad to hear that Medium was, for sure, cancelled. We have always enjoyed the show, and will miss it!
STUPID! One of the very few shows I watch. I was disappointed when they moved the show to Friday, but watched anyway. Now I won’t watch anything on Friday. Boo hiss. Let’s go on Facebook, et al, and force a return!
Please please leave Medium on. It is just a great show to watch all these years! Not something off the wall or think they are funny but they aren’t. It is just a great show to watch. What else can I say.
Medium is and has been my favorite show since day one. i just heard season finale is next week and almost cried! What a shame. Great show. i love the characters and love the show…
I am so upset that Medium is being canceled, I love the show could not wait for Friday night to watch it, I am so sad that its being canceled. Please CBS wake up its a great show please bring it back for another season, I can not believe how TV has changed in all the years I have been watching TV. I love Patricia Arquette she is so great in the part she plays. Please please bring the show back.

im with you richard. i have never missed an episode and loved the show. i loved ghost whisperer too and that also was cancelled. im sure i’ll shed a few tears on friday nite watching the last episode. stupid move cbs….it deserved a better time slot than fri nites.

Shirley January 14, 2011 I am upset about this series being cancelled. It is an intelligent family show that should be moved to another night if friday’s aren’t working for it. I am not one who watches reality programing. This was one of my favorite shows on television. I will miss it. The actors in this series are excellent. I hope they will be in other shows.
As several of the people stated before me, it is very hard to watch anything likeable on t.v. anymore with all of the reality shows, game shows, and crime and medical dramas. Something original and interesting like Medium can be very popular, yet some crappy little snot with an M.B.A. thinks he/she can create a better t.v. show. Just like all the rest of the posts here, I simply don’t like the reality shows and refuse to watch them, too. When they take The Good Wife away, I guess I will listen to music. Some of the best shows are on cable and I will have to wait for the latest season on DVD of Damages. Too bad that show isn’t on regular TV. I am so deeply disappointed in CBS’s decision to cancel Medium. This is the only show I watch on CBS, and the only drama I feel I have to rush back home to watch on Fridays. Too bad! No more CBS watching, I guess…and no more quality dramas on TV :o(
