CBS hasn’t announced that Medium has been cancelled but, while attending an event last weekend, Patricia Arquette said that the show will indeed be ending this season.
Like her character, series star Arquette can indeed see the future. Now, Medium creator Glenn Gordon Caron has confirmed that the drama is finished. Of the last episode, Caron wrote, “Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on Medium Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink.”
The ratings for Medium have taken a real hit this season. Despite frequently winning its timeslot, the drama has averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.41 million viewers. CBS reduced the number of episodes to just 13 as a result.

I agree with all the above CBS you are going to lose a lot of viewers. You are canceling all the good wholesome shows for Fridays that’s very sad to see. You are going to regret this.
This is just disappointing. I LOVE Medium. It’s one of the few shows out there that are actually decent to watch. It’s family based, which you don’t see a lot of anymore, and has the supernatural that I love. Please reconsider. Bring it back. It’s happened before. I hope cancelling it was worth it.
Bye-bye CBS…Medium was the ONLY reason I watched you at all. Everything else on there sucks.
Hey SyFy, TNT or FX….if you’re smart you’d pick up Medium…it has a following of loyal fans…just check out any discussion board about it’s being cancelled.
People with a brain actually WANT a well-written, well-acted show…not a bunch of reality show crap!
It really does not matter if a few million people like a tv show…it comes down to the network not wanting to pay actors to perform. I don’t believe the ratings are accurate. I believe the nielson ratings for years have been altered. We live in a world of bad business decision making. The networks force people to lose interest by running repeats or taking the show off completely for months…only to start it up again. The networks manipulate the tv audience. I cannot believe they are ending Medium!! My husband and I look forward to Friday nights for this show. All the good series are ending and no good ones to replace them. I too do wish the public gets to vote on these matters, it’s so hard lately to find a great series and now the few that remains are ending. Soon there will be nothing good to watch, no point in keeping my directv soon, cause nothing good ever on!!! Arrh, I am so mad and frustrated!!!
Yet again the networks are cancelling a great show. So does this mean we’ll have to endure another reality program and GARBAGE TV in it’s place? Looks like I’ll be reading alot more books or renting alot more movies.
I hate to see Medium end. I have been an avid watcher from the beginning and I think each episode just keep gettng better! Of the children my favorite is Marie; She reminds me of my youngest daughter when she was that age, such a sweet, cute little girl. I am sad to see it go; what ever will I watch in its place? 🙁
this is my favorite show and i’m VERY disappointed. i make sure i’m home every friday as does another friend of mine. why would CBS cancel a GOOD show when it wins its time slot… wow… that makes sense. maybe another channel will have the good sense to pick it up ?
I really can’t understand why they take all the good family shows away. We have watched Medium since the beginning. We are sad to see it cancelled. I also wish I could vote to save this show. But as always it is the networks that (think) they know best. It is truly a shame this time. A special thanks to all the actors, you were simply wonderful. This household will miss this show greatly. I guess we are going to have to buy a Wii and quit watching television on Friday nights. Because that was the only show worth watching.
I can’t believe they are taking this show away!! I am so mad!! There were a few decent shows left that I enjoy watching with my family, and now one of them will be gone. It’s just not right. I have to watch the last one. I love the Dubois family… I can’t believe they will be gone! 🙁 They should definitely open up a poll and comment section before canceling shows… I couldn’t believe when Ghost Whisperer was cancelled!! I agree with Cindy and Judy. Why not cancel some of those boring reality shows? How about some of those stupid sitcoms and the like. Now, they cancel my favorite show, the one Iwaited each week to watch. I guess NCIS or Criminal Minds will be next. I will not watch the last Medium show. I have a strange feeling that it will leave me depressed and empty.
I dvd medium so I fast forward through comercials so I just found out that medium is done. This is just sad, its one of the best shows. I was really looking forward to allison going to school and eventually becoming district attorney. I guess all things have to end sometime or another no matter what the viewers want which is kinda backwards if ya ask me. We need more shows like medium, gosh forbid we get more jersey shore stupidity. Well I have said my piece and it wont help but its out there.
Why cancel one of the best shows on TV?? Will not what corny sitcoms or boring reality shows.
Just learned that MEDIUM has been cancelled. WHY, so you can put on more junky reality shows and unfunny sitcoms? I loved MEDIUM and have watched it from the beginning. I also like all the CSI shows and shows of that type. Seems like eveything I like gets cancelled for crap. Who dreams up these ideas for new (awful) shows?
I`m just tired of all of my favorite shows being cancelled so they can add just one more stupid reality show to the line up. First you take away Ghost Whisperer and now Medium I`m about to drop our television provider period and just watch net flix and DVD`s. The networks are ruining the airways they cancel all the good series because what a few peop;e quit watching geez about the millions that don`t.
