While watching the second season of Men of a Certain Age in January, many viewers were dismayed to hear that TNT was calling the sixth episode the “season finale.” Had the show been cancelled?
Actually, TNT decided to cut the season into two parts. At some point, the cable channel increased the season order from 10 to 12 installments. The first six finished airing in January and now the second half dozen episodes are set to begin airing on Wednesday, June 1st at 10pm.
The first half of season two attracted a 0.5 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and an average of 2.16 million viewers each week. That’s a significant drop from season one which registered a 1.0 in the demo and an average of 3.19 million.
Will Men of a Certain Age be renewed for season three? That will likely have a lot to do with how well the remaining episodes perform in June. Unless the ratings pick up, it doesn’t look likely that we’ll see Ray Romano, Scott Bakula, and Andre Braugher on screen together after that.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear Men of a Certain Age is returning? Do you think it’ll get renewed for season three?

Love this show – hope it continues!!!!!!!!!
This is a fabulous show and am glad to learn it has not been cancelled. Given it has a kind of depth that I imagine the average viewers may not be able to appreciate, I’m saying my prayers that it stays around anyway so the rest of us can have some relief from the usual crap that stays on forever and ever. If the season/episode scheduling stays as it is, then at least make some kind of announcement so viewers can note when a season ends and when it will start up again, so we’re not left worrying and wondering… Read more »

This is without a doubt, one of the best shows on TV. Why does all the garbage survive and a GREAT show like this is on the block???? Gimme a break. THIS, is a reality show, not that other CRAP. Ray Romano is spot on.
My sister and I love the series and hope that it will continue. Starting and stopping so abruptly is very disruptive to establishing a relationship with the characters and the intent of the show. Lets hope that someone will see the light and have a “real” season with “real” episodes.
For once, please keep on the air a show that is acclaimed by critics and viewers alike. The show is good, absolutely good! Write it off as loss, whatever. Just keep it on.
Looooove the show! I can so identify with situations and so funny. However how do they expect to keep ratings up when the schedule is so irratic? Got to get some flow going with continuing story line.
Please bring this show back, again and again. It needs to be on a better more reliable schedule to keep viewer numbers up. It is very hard to keep up with when it is on. We love the show and make the effort to find it. Viewers get into a habit with some shows just because it’s the only thing on in that time slot and then miss what they really would like to watch. My husband and I are retired, active and in our seventies. Our hobbies are dancing, gardening, entertaining, shopping and watching TV. We will be looking… Read more »
WHAT-EVER, i’ll be watching.
I’ll certainly be watching,in June for a return.
I love the show.It is original and sincere and funny. And I saw the new Paul Reiser show the other night which seems like an NBC style knock off and really lacked the depth of “Men”.. we need this show to return for a third season.

This show touches on so many true-to-life issues that we “mature” watchers can totally identify with…maybe that’s the problem…the younger people just don’t get it…and guess who runs the ratings…I hope the show continues into season 3. It’s one of the few programs we always look forward to seeing. It’s REAL.
It is the beast show on televison. Real and funny in a low key way.
Glad to hear the shows coming back, if only for a few episodes.
I love it, so warm, funny and really believable.
Love, love, LOVE the show!!!!! So thoughtful, funny and compelling! I really hope there is another season! They need to do more press on this show. I just stumbled upon it and I am so glad I did!
