The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

saw last nights episode. It was very good with Elisabeth Harnois in the spotlight with an interesting storyline. It’s just a shame the show is cancelled. It gets better all the time. CBS sucks, as usual. If Bruckheimer has any clout, he can get it moved to another station or cable network. Is Hollywood that dense?
I just can’t believe you would take off such a great show(Miami Medical) to air anything featuring William Shatner. What a waste of an hour of air time.
I dont understand how this show has such low numbers, I blame it on the fact that its played on fridays at ten. If this were played on a different day of the week it would definitely have a second season
I finally find a show that my whole family loves including the husband & teens and you cancel it! Thanks a lot! This was a great show and so was Three Rivers. You don’t even give these shows a fighting chance! What a waste!

You know CBS, you are really making a ton of mistakes this year, and this one is undoubtedly the worst one yet. Miami Medical is the very best medical show I have ever seen. It is not like Gray’s Anatomy where everyone is jumping in and out of bed with Tom, Dick and Harry. It has real medical appeal and the characters are all real.
the stories are great and very believeable. Please don’t pull it!!

I am SO mad this show is getting cancelled! It is probably one the best shows I have ever watched. I look forward to watching it every friday night! It really isn’t fair. The reason the show is doing so poorly is because its not getting advertised enough. Please reconsider your decision in the cancellation of this show.

I was just getting my friends to tune in and this happens! We work in the medical field so we can identify (even with the politics)- but we love the mystery, gotcha-back relationships. CBS is definitely helping the cable networks by pulling Miami Medical!
I cannot believe they canceled this show and many other favorites of mine. This show is so exciting. I don’t believe they gave it a chance. Please bring it back. Bring back Numbers and Cold Case and Ghost Whisperer also!
