The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

We were addicted to “Miami Medical”. Couldn’t wait for Friday night for it to come on. Who gathers these viewer numbers anyway? This was one of the best medical shows I’ve seen for a long time. Please, please, pluuuuuzzzzze bring this show back!!!!!
We loved Miami Medical – It was a wonderful program .. We finally felt we had something to watch since ER is no longer on. It was a great medical program andthe actors were superb.
Please Please Please bring Mimi Medical back. It was and is one of the best med. dramas made. Miss it very much

I was so upset when the show was cancelled. I loved it. The shows ans the actors were superb!!
I am very sorry to see it go. Like Mercy, Trauma and Three Rivers, Miami Medical had “heart” If it has ‘heart” and is a well-done drama, 18-30’s will not watch it (esp on Friday night) and 40 -60’s (and older) are fighting with their significant other to watch old movies on TCM!
I will watch almost any medical drama. Hope some more are coming down the pike soon – and that the newtworks, and/or cable will let them work for a few years before letting them go.

The majority of the population is below average intelligence with the genius’s upping the average. Unfortunately TV shows for the minority just get tanked. Smart shows for smart people need to get picked up by Showtime or one of the independent channels.
I totally agree with everyone concerning the premature cancellation of MIAMI MEDICAL. I believe the show should NOT have aired on a Friday nite when many kids & adults are not home, or are winding down from the work/school week. MIAMI MEDICAL was touted by CBS as the seasons HOTTEST medical dramas. I do not see how they can come up with the number of viewers accurately watching a show. I loved this show! The characters were awesome and I just loved everything. Since when does a T.V. show only get 2 months to make it’s mark? With a time-slot like it had, you can’t expect many to watch it anyway…I am becoming very disappointed with all of the shows major channels are canceling recently! Always the good shows…

I really liked this show !!! I didnt really see it till episoid 5 so I missed a few. Probably one of the best medical shows I have seen in awhile ! I dont stay up to watch CSI anymore but I would stay up to watch Miami Medical !!
