The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

I love this show give it a chance!
This is the best new show of the season. They always save the silly shows from the ax. Why can’t we vote on what we want to watch? The chopping crew has probably never seen the show. What do they know?
I agree with everyone else, I love this show, I happened across it online by accident and loved it from the first episode! There are too many ‘reality’ shows (boring!) on these days and not enough dramas to get your teeth into. I am glad to see that they agreed to at least show the season in full, but I would love a second series as well!
I’m very disappointed they cancelled Miami Medical. It was nice to have something to watch on Friday nights. I love Jeremy Northam. I thought he was great on The Tudors, and was happy he was on a network that was free. I get a little tired of some of the reality shows out there.

Its funny how shows like “30 Rock” have the exact same ratings on Thursday night at 8:00 PM and they are going on 5 seasons! The numbers that it was pulling were VERY solid considering the time slot. They will only go up with time + more advertising. This is a a show that could thrive on one of the cables such as USA or TNT.
Another great show hits the dust!!!! Why don’t you get rid of some of the reality shows?? Friday night is really hurting for a good show. Did you ever think there are some people who are over age 25 and who are not out clubbing every Friday night. We more mature group deserve a good show to watch on Friday nights.
Please consider this when it comes time to cut shows.
You need to give Miami Medical more of a chance. This is a great show!! We need a good medical drama. Bring Miami Medical Back
This is one of the best shows I have seen in a while on television. My three kids and I watch it every week. There is never a boring episode .Try it on another night besides Friday due to people not being home. I bet your ratings would go through the roof. Please consider before taking it off for good.
My son stops by on Friday when getting off work so we can watch Miami Medical. We love the show. Need to give it more of a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so sad, and a little mad to see Miami Medical Leave so soon. I go to bed as soon as Medium is over but I was waiting for my daughter to come home, Miami Medical was on so I watched it….Instant LOVE!!The Pilot was Brilliant and had me hooked. I do not watch too many hospital based shows. I am more of a CSI kinda gal but, This show has an amazing cast and the story lines are Brilliant. These people are stupid since when is average of 6.8 million people watching a show a bad thing. People in Hollywood are so stupid and they think they know everything. Miami Medical is a GREAT show but you know Hollywood knows everything, PLEASE!!!! It makes me so mad that they are taking this show off the air. I think they should put it in a different time slot like on Wednesday at like 7:00 or something like that. People don’t like to sit at home on a Friday night and watch TV. Man people in Hollywood piss me off!!!!
I really enjoy this show.. I look forward to it every friday.. Its sad that they get you interested in a show then cancel it.. They picked a very poor time slot to put it on.. Hopefully we will get to at least finish it all out and it will get a finale it deserves..
I’m a fan of Miami Medical and very sad to see it go. I think there was not enough advertising for the new show before it aired and they had a very poor time slot. This show would have done well on Wednesday at 10:00 when there is nothing for it to go up against.
This show is great I love it. I do find it annoying that networks always pull the good shows. I also find it odd that ER lasted how many seasons, but now all the medical shows are bombing. They must have run their course. It’s sad to see them go. 🙁
