Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Missing has been cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t succeed? How long should have the show realistically lasted — one season, two, three or more?

Missing was the best series on and we all watched each episode. From 22year old’s to 55 year olds. DUMB decision to cancel the 2nd season.
I am so bummed it was canceled. It was an amazing show and had a twist in every episode. The cast was awesome together. I was so looking forward to this next season. Bad move ABC. We are totally disappointed you left us hanging at the end.
I will be sincerely disappointed for no more Missing. I trying to remember if it had something to compete with at same time spot. I’m thinking for some reason that could be it. Again I enjoyed the show much.
BBBBBBBBBBBBBad move. Thats all we need is a stupid reality show to take its place.
right on!
They cancel shows way to fast these days and it’s a shame-I like Ashely Judd as an actress but besides her, the rest of the cast clicked I think and the show had a movie quality to it that I really liked!! There are many series in the past that got off to a bad start and ended up becoming TV classics!! It’s really to bad this series had to suffer this sad fate-I was so looking forward to the second season and so were my sisters-we watched it together!! I’m bummed!!!!!
You can’t leave a story without an end…. I don’t watch that much TV. I enjoyed the series, and was looking forward for the continueation.
Bad move to cancel Missing. Please bring it back at least one more series….
My family loved, loved Missing. We cannot believe you left us hanging in the last episode. ABC made a mistake cancelling this great show!!!!!
Get rid of the other junk shows on ABC and bring back Missing.
I agree with the viewers that wish the show to return. The show was very entertaining and had a lot of possibilities for future episodes. The execs.at abc are not always right…
I am sad we need season 2 yhu.r talk soon this to us
I agree with Pennie. All those shows are getting boring like The Bachelorette, big brothers and other reality shows….This was the only show that I looked forward too and only one I wached. Total mistake by ABC for airing at at the same time as other no-brainer shows that no-brainers like to watch.
I CAN NOT BELIEVE ABC DID IT AGAIN CANCELLING A GREAT SHOW LIKE MISSING IT WAS FULL OF ACTION AND SUSPENSE. NOW THEY KEEP YOU HANGING AND NOT BRINGING IT BACK. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THEY VOTE OR DECIDE WHAT TO KEEP ON TV OR TAKE OFF TV. THEY SHOULD CANCEL STUPID SHOWS LIKE THE BACHELOR AND BACHELORETTE AND LETS NOT FORGET GLEE.
PLEASE BRING THIS SHOW BACK.
My husband and I are very disappointed that Missing has been cancelled. It kept us on the edge of our sits and we loved it! I truly hope another station picks it up. The show was magnificent.
I think ABC needs to realize what families do during the week; most of the time it is not watching TV. This show was edge of your seat, can’t wait for the next episode, kind of show. Canceling was a bad move. very disappointing.
I have just seen the last episode of Missing in Norwegian television. How can ABC cancel this show now. They should have thaugt about that before making an end like that:-(((( I want seoson 2!!!!!!!!!
