It seems the fog has burned off. Spike has cancelled The Mist TV show after just one season. Based on the Stephen King novella, The Mist first premiered on Spike TV on June 22, 2017. The Viacom-owned channel will rebrand as “Paramount Network,” in early 2018. A few months prior to its first and only season debut, Kevin Kay, president of Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT said the new TV series had “potential,” and that they would renew it for season two, if the first season found “success” on Spike.
Airing on the Spike cable channel, The Mist stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Frances Conroy. After the Copeland family’s daughter survives a brutal attack, an ominous mist overwhelms the town of Bridgeville, Maine. As it spreads, it threatens the very foundations of the town.
The Mist: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of The Mist averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 462,000 viewers. Because The Mist was the cable channel’s first original scripted series, we don’t have ratings data from other Spike TV shows to which we can compare it.
Deadline has confirmed The Mist cancellation with Spike.

This is sad news if cancelled. I REALLY enjoyed this series. Sure wish another channel would purchase and air if Spike will not. (Like Sci-Fi or AMC.)
Me and my fiance watched this on Netflix in two days. It was literally one of the best series I have ever watched. It ended in a way that we need answers. Tv shouldn’t be allowed to do this to us! Lol one okf the best shows I’ve watched in a long while!
The Mist is a very decent Tv Series loosely based of the 80’s kings novella. Its really to bad that it did not get picked up for a 2nd season. After all the crap that has been picked back up or even being green lit. I really thought this series would stand a chance.. I am going to Get some shade here but if they picked up a 2nd season of Stranger Things *don’t even want to start on The Walking Dead* I would hope that at least the Mist would of be renewed.
As an adaptation of the novella it was a big fail….maybe if they have named something else…it would have been better. Besides that…the plot and character development was bad.
Stranger Things is very diferent so no idea why compare them….about the TWD it’s a mistery to me how it’s still going. Lol.
Bring it back. It held my interest for the hour. I thought the acting was good also. I can think of several shows that should be cancelled before this, like “The Mick” for one.
Season two please! I wasn’t sure at first few episodes, but now we need season two! Netflix, take it over!

Me and my boyfriend finished all of season one in like two days. It should not have been cancelled. I have questions i want to be answered in a season two! BRING IT BACK!
I just watched the mist the past two days and I can honestly say it has been a while since I have seen such an intriguing show, tv today is so bland I was excited for a new concept and of course they cancel it. BRING IT BACK anything Stephen King related is going to be successful guys!
