What were you watching last night? Original network programming, reruns, cable, or something else?
Last night I enjoyed watching DWTS, The Voice, Forever, Scorpion, Under the Dome finale, Gotham, Secretary Madam and Dallas finale.
I assume they look at Live+3 and Live+7 ratings not just overnight ratings because on a night like last night there were too many things I wanted to watch or checkout the premieres and then there are other nights where nothing is on worth watching. I watched TBBT, Dallas (yes, Dallas, it was the season finale and watched it when there was nothing else on Monday nights in the summer). Recorded Sleepy Hollow and Blacklist which I normally watch, and recorded to check out Gotham, Forever, and Scorpion.
Forever and Sleepy Hollow look to be the first casulties of the night.
I have to disagree with you on Forever but they do walk a dangerous line with corny if they don’t utilize the acting abilities of it’s stars and stop all the “die and float” routine. I mean, I get it but I don’t have to see it time and again. Use some fresh ideas with these characters and don’t fall into the NCIS: schlump……………. We don’t need another same ‘ol same ‘ol just different people.
I have to agree with you on the whole Sleepy Hollow thing. I mean continuity seemed to be a huge problem last night. Seriously, what was that? Second season halfa**ed writers that couldn’t tell a story, way too much sensationalism. Take it back to it’s roots guys, this was a very lazy attempt.
Lots of season premieres DOWN year over year, even TBBT. That is over 20% for Voice. 10% for Blacklist, new shows not pulling in the expected numbers. looks like a lot of TV shows still lack general appeal.
What always concerns me about ratings is that they only take into account who watched a show when it was first broadcast. I watched TBBT, but I’ll be checking out Gotham on Hulu this weekend. So, while I support both shows, my “vote” only counts for TBBT.
