TV show description:
This crime drama has a unique twist in that it doesn’t focus on who committed a crime, but why the crime was committed in the first place. As the mystery unfolds, winding between revealing flashbacks and present time, viewers navigate the twisted and complicated maze of each murder, solving the puzzle alongside the detectives, piecing together more of the mysterious connections that drove the killer to commit murder.
When a murder is committed, Detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira) are on the case, looking for clues that will lead them to the killer.
Sexy and feisty, Angie is a thirty-something single mom from the wrong side of the tracks who proves that appearances can be deceiving. Oscar is intelligent, thoughtful, methodical and confident. He comes from a wealthy family and turned his back on an expensive Harvard Divinity School education to join the police force (a change of heart from his initial choice of joining the priesthood).
Others on the homicide team are: Doctor Betty Rogers (Lauren Holly), a medical examiner with a quirky sense of humor that belies the grimness of her daily job. Staff Sergeant Boyd Bloom (Roger Cross), the Squad Room Supervisor who was sidelined from the streets a few years earlier by a bullet. Detective Brian Lucas (Brendan Penny), a young eager beaver detective and newlywed who’s eager to learn and is fascinated about the often grisly procedures.
Angie doesn’t suffer fools or authority figures lightly. At home, Angie only wants the best for her teenage son, Manny (Cameron Bright), who is one of the few things in life that she feels she did right. But as far as Manny’s concerned, being the son of a cop is not the easiest gig in the world.

What do you think? Do you like the Motive TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
I love Motive!!
Like it different twist makes it interesting vs other crime shows
I vote to renew
Love it, love it, love it!
The two detectives that lead the investigations are great together.
Absolutely love this show and especially both of the detectives. Like the idea that you know who commited the crime but investigating the reason is more interesting. Hope it stays for awhile.
Really like MOTIVE. Trying to figure out why along with the detectives is a great new twist on a police drama. Even though some of the police scenes might not seem plausible, it’s still worth watching. Please don’t cancel.
Love this show. Really hope it continues. Great writing!
I love this show its one I look forwardto seeing on Wednesday night? One of my favorites. Hope it is continued…Do not cancel this show
Show sucks. Stars mumble a lot can’t understand half of the dialogue. Good riddance
If it’s cancelled
Have not had that problem. Maybe it’s your reception. ??
Why is the Asian cop at every crime scene that the dectectives investigate. How is it possible that she is present irrespective of the tine, day or night. Does she have any other duties. It’s so unrealistic.
Just like some other police dramas. Who cares? It’s still worth watching.
Love the show and the people envolved
Will be VERY disappointed if cancelled
it’s a show the family can enjoy together
LOVE IT
I love this show. It is different since you know ahead who the victim and killer are. Trying to figure out how they are connected and the “motive” is challenging sometimes. I love the detectives especially Angie. Hope this show is continued.
Love the show and hope it won’t be canceled. I notice for the next 2 Wednesdays old NASHVILLE’s have taken its place. Please don’t cancel MOTIVE.
I like the show, it’s a new twist and they allow the cast to have a human side. In one show one of the cast walked on the curb and his partner gave him a score as if he was in the Olympic. They portray them as real people
We enjoy the program, however the technical set lighting leaves a lot to be desired. The excessive use of sconce lighting is not the way to light up a set, use more direct and indirect lighting. Also when in the squad room, cameras should not face the direct lighting nor should the filming be done with cameras filming through the glass work boards.
I watch a lot of TV and movies and Motive is one of my favorites. Hope it is continued.
