Mr. Bean isn’t going anywhere. In a recent interview with Radio Times, Rowan Atkinson said he has no plans to retire the British sitcom character.
Atkinson played the clumsy man-child on ITV from 1990 to 1995.
When asked if he would ever say goodbye to the character, Atkinson said “no”:
No, I don’t really have plans like that.
You go with the parts that are offered that inspire you. I would never finally wave goodbye to any character – I feel as though I could still play him [Bean]. It’s just the emphasis tends to shift.”
After Mr. Bean ended in 1995, the series inspired several spin-offs, including an animated series in 2002 and two feature films.
Of course, Mr. Bean isn’t the only sitcom character Atkinson is famous for. There are reportedly plans to reboot his historical comedy series, Blackadder, which ended in 1989.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Mr. Bean? Would you watch another Mr. Bean series?
I am hoping there will be more mr bean shows
Movies like Jhonny English Reborn is evergreen.Would love to see him doing something similar once again
I am fan of Mr. Ben and yes, another brand new live-action series should be made.
Man I really love Mr bean but I dont want Rowan Atkinson to be like sick because of it but it will always bring joy to my face and family
I would rather see Mr. Bean 3 being made. It should be based on an unproduced script outline for a Mr. Bean movie set in Australia. The title for Mr. Bean 3 should be either Mr. Bean Down Under or Mr. Bean Goes Down Under.
Agree.
Mr. Bean is a character that still brings a smile to my face.
There’s always a place on tv for Mr Bean!
