Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”

Nashville is impressive. It continues to interest and satisfy its audience regularly. In addition to the weekly soap opera style, the actors are awesome artists. I enjoy their individual vocals as well as the duets they arrange. Though the music from Nashville is an old standard, it has been refreshed for the millenium’s ear. It is able to sound relevant in the contemporary world of today. Don’t let it go away. It’s not time.
All the blame goes to the writers. This season has been about nothing but disfunctional families, spoiled kids and gay drama. That’s not what country music or Nashville is about. You lost the grass roots country fans when you decided to focus on your politically correct agenda.
You may think your right & I understand you have your opinions, but is a part of life & was done in good taste.
There I one gay character on the show while all the other characters are straight. All the drama going on with the straight characters and all you can focus on is the one gay character. I think you’re too close minded for the show. Stick to what you understand. Archy Bunker and All In The Family.
Has nothing to do with political correctness, just keeping up to date with what is going on in the world.
Actually, having lived in that fine city, that’s exactly what Nashville is about!
Please …… Someone take over Nashville!!! This is the main show that I look forward to every week, love the entire cast and the music is Fantastic!!! Great story lines and so so so much more can be told for many more years!!!! Pleas Keep this show/series !!!!!!!! Don’t take off the air ….!!!!!!

Please keep this show ..it is full of story lines that are true ,raw and poetic which are not only acted but sung and played!! A rare combination… That should not be tossed away!!!! Surely there is some one will save this gem !
The show is pure entertainment and it needs a home.
It blows my mind that a show with such a talented cast and a great story could be cancelled. It’s the only show I make a point to keep up with. I love it, I love listening to all of the great music (I know the Civil Wars wrote I didn’t know better but I’m still obsessed with that song from season 1), and I love the peek into the music industry. Please, please someone pick up this show. There is more great talent on this show than in any other show I have seen in a long time. I was shocked to hear that ABC has made another BIG mistake, like canceling THE GOOD WIFE, CASTLE and now this!!!!!!! I just love this show, find a way please
