What’s in store for Nashville‘s fifth season? Co-showrunner Marshall Herskovitz recently teased the upcoming season on CMT, TVLine reports.

This will be the country music drama’s first season on the network after ABC cancelled the show earlier this year. Regular castmembers Hayden Panettiere, Connie Britton, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella, and Chris Carmack are all returning.

In a behind-the-scenes video, Herskovitz says season five will feature more music and different kinds of music:

First thing we mandated was shorter scripts, so there’s time for the music to play out. … Nashville is the crossroads of the entire music world, not just country music.”

The new season of Nashville debuts on January 5th.
