Miguel Ferrer, star of NCIS: Los Angeles and Twin Peaks, has died at the age of 61, Deadline reports.
The prolific film and television actor played Owen Granger on NCIS: Los Angeles and reprised the role of the cantankerous FBI Agent Albert Rosenfeld for Showtime’s upcoming Twin Peaks revival.
Ferrer, the son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney, appeared in more than 100 films and TV shows over the course of his wide-ranging career, including Crossing Jordan, Adventure Time, Young Justice, Desperate Housewives, and The Protector.
According to Deadline, Ferrer filmed more episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles before his death and the writers are currently figuring out what to do with his character in light of the situation. Ferrer will appear in Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival, which premieres on May 21st.
Several of Ferrer’s cast mates and colleagues responded to the actor’s passing.
From NCIS: Los Angeles showrunner R. Scott Gemmill:
Today, NCIS: Los Angeles lost a beloved family member. Miguel was a man of tremendous talent who had a powerful dramatic presence on screen, a wicked sense of humor, and a huge heart. Our thoughts go out to his wife Lori, his sons, and his entire family. He will be greatly missed.”
From Twin Peaks cast mate Kyle MacLachlan:
