The Powells may have super powers but they weren’t strong enough to save their TV series. No Ordinary Family has been cancelled after one season on the air.
No Ordinary Family revolves around suburban family who, while on vacation, crash into Amazon River and gain special abilities. The cast includes Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz, Autumn Reeser, Jimmy Bennett, Kay Panabaker, Tate Donovan, Christina Chang, and Romany Malco.
The drama had a decent debut last September with a 3.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.69 million total viewers. Unfortunately, the ratings didn’t stay at that level and dropped by 16% in week two and then 15% in week three. The numbers kept declining and went as low as a 1.2 demo rating and just 4.26 million viewers in March.

The network cut the episode order but it was already clear by that point that the show was finished. ABC pre-empted one installment and bumped the penultimate episode to Saturday nights, an evening when few are watching. The first season of No Ordinary Family ended up averaging a 1.8 in the demo and 6.4 million viewers, making it one of the lowest dramas of the ABC season.
ABC has now officially cancelled No Ordinary Family. All 20 episodes have aired. Hopefully, at some point, the producers will share what they had planned for the future of the series.

I recorded every episode just in case we missed one, what a great show loved it & have just searched to find out when the next season starts then found this thanks alot finally got some decent tv then they cancel it.
The show was on an unknown channel in England called watch if it was on one of our main channels it would have pulled a massive audience in.

This show sucked badly. BADLY. As a sci fi follower i can say it was so lame, so sad… so stupid script that i got angry when i watched the 4th episode and forward. She is so fast, but she couldnt take down the pistol on his husband´s head. They knew the risks of powers and yet they didnt say nothing to the kids. I enjoyed No Ordinary Family!!! I can not under stand all the bad decisions the networks are making lately no ordinary family was like the only show on that channel i liked as far as i am concerned i will not tune in to that channel tell they get there **** together and stop cancelling the few good shows they have, and if they do bring out something new it better be good and not some stupid filler garbage .
To me and my family, this was the BEST show on TV. We couldnt wait to see it each week. We have been waiting for the new shows, so I came on line to find out whats going on and sure enough….it got cancelled. What a bummer! They cancell all the good shows and leave the crap on tv. Whats this world coming to?

I just wanted to say that my son, who is 9 and I are very disappointed in the cancelled series of No Ordinary Family. Not very many shows these days on ABC or otherwise are true family friendly. Long before the Powell family had their powers they had to keep in mind that family was important. Once they needed help or advice or acceptace with their powers they had to rely on eachother. I never watched this show. But always wondered if there is Super Hero Family is there also a Super Villain Family.
I enjoyed No Ordinary Family!!! I actually watched this show and was waiting anxiously waiting for the next episode each week.
My son is crushed. He would ask weakly if it was time to watch it. Or if it for sure recorded. He just now asked me if it was time for the new season to start yet. It was a great opportunity to have our special “snuggles” since he is 9 already. 🙂 We will sure miss it too Jessica.
And V is pretty weird! Hahaha because the episode that I watched there was like people hanging in the street or like by a building?? I kinda wanna know what that was all about!!?!:)
I think that they should make a new AWESOME new season on the Internet!!!!! Just because the ratings werent good!? People gotta work!! Well not me cuz I’m just a kid but still!!! Again, one of the ONLY (2) Shows I watched on (ABC) and both have been cancelled. Who are the network execs talking to, are we not buying enough Tide detergent or something. Really ABC – You actually had 2 winners in “V” and “No Ordinary Family”… I started watching ABC again just for those 2 shows. Oh well, back to Cable (TNT-USA-SYFY & even A&E)
This was one of the few family shows that we recorded weekly.
I watch everything after the fact. I need to be able to pause and rewind. I don’t know how people find out stuff has been canceled.
