As previously reported, ABC had planned on running just four of its six episodes of October Road. Though the series shows evidence of losing steam, ABC has changed their plans.
October Road debuted on March 15th to 13.93 million viewers. The second episode dropped 16% and the third dropped to less than 8.3 million. Despite this decline, the series has been attracting a healthy percentage of the desirable 18-49 demographic.
ABC had planned to air only four of the six episodes of October Road this season. If the series was renewed then the remaining two episodes would air as part of season two. ABC has now decided to air the remaining two episodes this season.
October Road will take a one week break while a double dose of sitcom Notes from the Underbelly debuts on April 12th. Underbelly will then move to Wednesday nights beginning April 18th. The two episodes of October Road will air on April 19th and 26th. No word on what will occupy the timeslot after that.
A final decision on an October Road second season will likely be announced in mid-May at the network upfronts. Stay tuned! 
I never warm up to a show until its in its sixth or seventh season…I didn’t even like Friends until a couple of years ago, but I have loved october road since the first episode, and I’ve even started watching Grey’s Anatomy just so I can stay awake…I used to go to bed much earlier. I would be devastated if october road didn’t come back for a second season.
Please keep this series. I love it. Also If the networks would stop switching time slots and days around it would really help.
WHY has our October Road abruptly become a dead end?? What a teaser!! I was shocked tonight to find that the season was so short, and even more surprised that we may not see a second season. And to think i finally had “my own” show…my wife has already claimed Grey’s Anatomy. The Road must return!!!!!

I love October Road…If i can’t watch it I DVR it…Stop taking interesting shows off the air and replacing them with more comedy’s …we need some drama with humor…the way that they are doing it on October Road! Please don’t take it off…I have told my friends about it and they are now watching!
I fell in love with this show from the first episode. I hope they decide to air a second season. I don’t think it has been given enough time to make a name for itself. Possibly putting it on at an earlier time would also prove beneficial! Hope to see you next season!!!
I looove this show. It’s one of the best things that ABC has had on in a long time. I would like to see a 2nd season..
October Road is genuinely great! To cancel this show would be a HUGE disappointment. I absolutely love Bryan Greenberg and loved him on One Tree Hill. Laura Prepon is a great addition as well. This is just a classic combo of a storyline w/ an awesome cast and you can’t go wrong by bringing it back! ABC – Please listen to your viewers and keep this show!
Seriously..I was so excited to catch up on this week’s episode online..and SERIOUSLY dissappointed and frustrated to find out it wasn’t there.. come ONNNNNNNNNNN ABC….
I love this show and Men in Trees. It is really annoying when you get hooked on a show and then it is taken off. I started out the season watching The Nine and all of a sudden it was gone. Now they bring October Road on and leave us hanging. I also like Men in Trees… well it has been a few weeks and we have not saw a show yet. I also love Greys Anatomy. They will show a new episode and then a re-run the next week. This is really getting OLD!!

It’s very frustrating to start watching a show, only to have it yanked out from underneath you. What’s the use of getting involed in a show. ABC(and the other networkds for that matter wonder why ratings are so up/down. If we the viewers felt that the networks could make a committment to a show and let it play out they just might surprise themselves at the change in ratings. I absolutely love this show.. and so do all my friends and co-workers. I have been glued to the tube each Thursday night since its premeire and hope to continue watching. The storyline is so interesting and the cast is perfect. Bryan Greenberg is the best.. Please keep October Road!!
