First, FOX cancelled Lone Star and then, ABC cancelled My Generation. Not wanting to be left out, NBC has now cancelled Outlaw. The Jimmy Smits series has ceased production but viewers will still be able to see the remaining episodes.
Outlaw follows a Supreme Court Justice (Smits) who decides to step down and go back to being a lawyer in order to fight injustices. The NBC series also stars Carly Pope, David Ramsey, Jesse Bradford, and Ellen Woglom.
The series debuted following the season finale of one of NBC’s biggest shows, America’s Got Talent, and could only attract moderate ratings. In its regular Friday night timeslot, Outlaw’s ratings have gone from bad to worse. This past Friday, the show hit a new low in the 18-49 demographic with a 0.9 rating and fell to just 4.10 million viewers. It was in last place in both categories.

As we previously reported, NBC shut down production last week, supposedly wanting to wait to see if viewership got better in later weeks. If that was actually the case, they didn’t wait very long. Outlaw has been cancelled and the cast and crew won’t be returning to production.
For the time being, NBC will fill the 10pm timeslot with an expanded edition of Dateline. The four remaining episodes of Outlaw will be seen on Saturday nights starting on October 16th. An episode won’t be seen on October 30th because of a previously schedule Shrek special. The last episode of Outlaw will air on November 13th.

I don’t even like Smits, he always looks like he thinks he’s better than me, BUT I LOVED THIS SHOW! He rocked, and I am sad to see it go.
NBC is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved that show and would look forward to watching it at night on Fridays. I even liked it better than Blue Bloods and I love TOM SELLICK!!!!!!!!!but I love JimmySmits No! Are you kidding? (74%)

NBC you suck big time. When u cancelled Vegas and didn’t wrap the storyline I vowed to never watch NBC again. Then I got interested in Outlaw. Love Jimmy Smits. This show is one of your best in years. I mean Community? Parks and Recreations? Even 30 rock. Give me a break. Bye bye NBC. Lost another viewer.
I think this is a good show, and hate to see it canceled. It needs a better day and time slot.

Outlaw was given a bad rep before it even got started. It was also put
opposite Tom Selleck…bad chose. I liked it very much…Try again.
This is a great show. It is different. give it a chance. Give it as better time slot. Saturdays are better than Friday.

I am very disappointed and upset to find out Outlaw has been canceled. The ones they should be cancelling is the reality shows that supper stupid behavior and want a man showes and will do anything to get one.

Because of the contest, week #2 of OUTLAW, between statehood [AZ] and Federal socialists political ambition using Civil Rights [for criminals and illegal aliens] to gain vote and win elections, as in our last major election, 2008 wherein, minorities controlled over the working class, perhaps NBC was “forced” to cancel the show. I love the show…….How can you cancel it so soon……Not many good shows on these days, and Outlaw was finally a GREAT show. There was finally a show that keeps your interest. So disappointing, next time i won’t watch any of your new shows because i’ll only get disappointed. Hey how about another Law and Order that’s orginal.
I AM not finished yet!!! I have watched Days for over 25 yrs!!! Will not watch it on nbc anymore.. however i will watch it on the soap channel..same for all the law and orders will wait until repeated on usa… Outlaw was the best show out this season and nbc pulls it after 4 episodes that is BULLS__T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nbc was blessed to of even had JIMMY SMITS to star in the show.. Really? How do you expect any brand new show to survive in a Friday 10 pm timeslot? This is a really great show! NBC…please bring this show back and give it a chance on a decent day and timeslot.
They hardly give any shows a chance. Jimmy Smits is great. At least ABC stuck by Brothers and Sisters. I really hate NBC. First CBS cancels Cane and now NBC cancels this show, which is really great and better most new shows, up there with The Whole Truth and Hawaii Five-o (excluding last nite’s horrible Five O.) Think Smits should go to HBO, Showtime or Starz because the old networks are just doing their best to annoy viewers.
