The little sitcom that caused a lot of controversy last summer has quietly ended its run. NBC has cancelled Outsourced after one season on the air.
Outsourced follows a US sales manager, Todd Dempsey (Ben Rappaport), who’s assigned to supervise his company’s call center in India. The sitcom also stars Anisha Nagarajan, Diedrich Bader, Parvesh Cheena, Pippa Black, Rebecca Hazelwood, Rizwan Manji, and Sacha Dhawan.
The NBC sitcom started out decently and it looked like NBC might have a keeper on its hands. Last September, Outsourced debuted to a 3.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.49 million viewers. In week two, the demo number fell 22% to a 2.8 rating and 5.85 million viewers but that was still pretty healthy by NBC standards.

Unfortunately, over the course of the season, the ratings just kept dwindling downward. The ratings have gone as low as a 1.4 in the demo with just 2.97 million viewers. Those are horrible numbers for a major network, even NBC.
Outsourced’s season currently averages a 2.1 demo rating and 4.55 million viewers. For NBC, that’s not too bad but the average is only that high because of the early season ratings.
It’s certainly not a shocker than NBC has cancelled Outsourced after just one season. The 22nd and final episode, titled “Rajiv Ties the Bharat, part two,” aired last night.
What do you think? Are you disappointed that there won’t be a second season of Outsourced? Why do you think the TV show didn’t catch on?

Please bring outsourced back! Can’t believe they cancelled it, one of the best shows of the year and I probably re-watched it for 3-4 times. I was waiting to see what’s gonna happen between Todd and Asha!
I can’t believe that this show has been cancelled. The people at NBC are fools and they wonder why they don’t have winning shows. There is so much other crap on namely X-FACTOR, American Idol & Big Brother. It’s nice to see a show that is a little off beat and doesn’t take itself serious, which if you agree we all should do.
This is one of the best shows I have watched in recent times. I thought that it would be around for awhile. Please bring it back!
The world is too sensitive. This show pointed out quirks rather than stereotypes. If anything it made Todd a stereotypically ignorant-about-the-rest-of-the-world-American. Too bad. I think if people weren’t scared to laugh at a show starring people from a different ethnicity NBC may have had a hit on its hands.
I am genuinely disappointed, just finding out tonight that it was cancelled. Has anyone seen “Whitney” yet? Stupid.
Please bring it back! My family enjoyed this show together. We want a season two. Please give a second chance.
I am another big fan of the show…Bring Outsourced back!
Bring Outsourced back!!! I loved this show!!! I love re-watching the episodes and they make me smile every time! I don’t understand why there is no Season 2 🙁
I kept trying to find redeeming qualities, but it just tried too hard.
I want a Season 2 I really loved that show so does my whole family! I’m so disappointed that they have canceled the show!! NBC, I finally found something i could watch again and u taking it away that is not nice!
bring this show back, please! It was hilarious and worth watching…give it another chance with better advertising. Heck it’s far better than some of the newer shows coming out.

This show was absolutely one of the best shows in the line up last season. There were few shows I cared to make sure I watched weekly but this one was soooo great! I have friends who did not know about it last season and have watched it since and think it is one of the funniest shows they have ever seen! Please, bring it back!!
