Unfortunately, Parenthood has never been a hit TV show in the ratings. Fortunately, the numbers have been good enough to keep it from being cancelled each year. Will the Braverman family’s luck hold out? Time will tell.
An ensemble family drama, the cast includes Bonnie Bedelia, Craig T. Nelson, Dax Shepard, Erika Christensen, Joy Bryant, Lauren Graham, Mae Whitman, Max Burkholder, Miles Heizer, Monica Potter, Peter Krause, Sam Jaeger, Sarah Ramos, Savannah Paige Rae, and Tyree Brown.
Season four of Parenthood typically airs on Tuesdays nights at 10pm on the NBC network. They’ve ordered 15 episodes.
These are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Parenthood is going to be cancelled or renewed for season five.

It wasn’t a great start of the season. Though Parenthood won its timeslot (opposite reruns), it was down year-to-year by 14% in the coveted demo (vs a 2.2 rating) and down by 13% in total viewers (vs 6.29 million). This isn’t a big surprise however since each season opener has been lower than the one before it.
Reference point: The 2011-12 season of Parenthood averaged a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.13 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Parenthood TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?

The best show on Tv!! I look forward to it every week. Love the Braverman’s
Well Folks I would not hold my breath… cuz, that is the way the “networks” works… They pull you into a series get you nice and comfortable with watching it week to week and then BAM! Its been cancelled…. No longer are the days of when a series could go on for years… Its all about the dollar bill at the end of the day…. !
Again one of the best written shows on TV. NBC would be crazy to cancel this show, with all the reality based TV that is programmed these days it is refreshing to watch something that truly involves writers and a real storyline! Thank You NBC!
This is by far the best show on television. It seems as though they keep canceling the shows that actually have great acting and story lines. This show is so on target with real issues of families. Get rid of some of these senseless comedies and reality shows. Please do not cancel this amazing show.
Parenthood is the best show on TV, it’s so true to life. I think everyone
can relate to the Bravermen family. The actors are so good, look forward
to this show weekly, love it!
The show is very good this season 2012 -2013.
I like how they dealt with Max and his reaching
Puberty odors very realistic. They should decide
If they are Jewish or Christian in previous
Episodes they mentioned they were part Jews but they
Had the biggest Christmas tree. Also some of the dialog sounds
Too scripted when the patriarch calls his grandson Grandson instead
Of his name .
Me and my wife look forward to watch the best show on tv every week. I beg you please do not cancell Parenthood we love, love , love this show!
Please do not cancel Parenthood, it is one of the best shows on tv.
Best show on TV for sure! It’s so relatable and full of such great actors and story lines. If this show was canceled it would feel like losing the braverman clan as a family friend!
Please do not cancel! This is the best show ever! It encapsualates all the highs and lows of all families which we all can relate to. Wish it never ends.
This is the best show on television. Fantastic writing and acting. Please don’t cancel! Everyone I know loves “Parenthood.”
Please do not cancel this show.
Parenthood NEVER disappoints! NBC, please renew for season 5. This show is for real – I hang onto every word. It serves the public well with issues such as Aspergers.
Please don’t cancel the Bravermans! This is the best show on tv!
This is an awesome show! Cant wait each week to watch the new episode and it’s one of the only shows on tv that can depict what actual families go through without adding drugs and cheating all the time. I never knew about this show until this season and now its one of two shows that are a must see to me. Im going to find the first 3 seasons to watch them too. I think the later time makes it harder to get high viewing but really hope thos doesn’t get cancelled. I bet anyone who watches it once… Read more »
Perfect comment. Keep the show. Great characters/actors, story lines, addicting. Can’t imagine how/why they’d pull it…with all the c*** on, this would seem to be a “franchise player” for NBC. One of the few I really look forward to (and get grumpy when rarely missed).
