Person of Interest will return to CBS at midseason, and there are hints that this could be the final season of the popular series. CBS only ordered 13 episodes for season five, and it is possible that the network could pick up the series for another year after those episodes, but the cast is prepared for it to be the end.
Michael Emerson told Collider in an interview shared back in September that “it feels like [the cast] is coming to the end of something.”
TV Line reported on the addition of Josh Close from Fargo as a recurring member of the cast for the series on Monday, and the report shared new comments made by Kevin Chapman about the season, and if it is the end – the series is going out with a big finish.
“I honestly can say that Season 5 is the best season we’ve ever had. The action, the performances, the subject matter…. Everything. They’ve really gone above and beyond.”

I totally agree with Michael G. Wilson’s comment. But, I hope this isn’t the end.
I really hate to see this show canceled. Want it wrapped up right with Harold getting his love back, the villains of Samaraten need to be taken out in righteous death! I want Root to find Shaw, and hope she is still savable for Root. John and Harold need to find a peaceful purpose for their futures.
POI one of the best shows ever. Keep the series going. There are other shows not worth turning on the TV.
Grate Show.YYYYYYY
I hope that they at least are going to reunite Joss and John at the very end of this show.
It started with the two of them and should end with them back together again as well!!!
Season 4 was terrible, so i truly hope Season 5 will be better. I doubt it since the main focus seems to be on Root & Shaw, but we will see.
Please give us a 6th season. It was better with Taraji P. Henson and Sara Shahi but it is still an intriguing show. The combo of Emerson and Caviezel still works.
I don’t know if it will do any good, but I left a comment on the CBS website:

Maybe it will help.
I love this show, I’m an old soldier, relate to Reece. Amy Acker is fantastic, and Sharia, where is she? I would love it to go into a sixth season, but if not, I’m happy to know that there is at least a half of season 5. I have missed it. They show re runs on the Chicago, but gotta get to the end of Samaritan. Those no good rotten rascals, especially that little grey haired guy. I would love to see Harold get his red head back from Italy!!!! thanks for this wonderful show
I just want the show back – where and when will this happen?
We’ve really enjoyed this show. We enjoyed the first 2 seasons more than the last 2 as it seemed the writers, shall we say- stirred the pot a bit to much. Non the less we are looking forward to the continued enjoyment of your series.
I LOVE this show! Please please do not cancel it.
I hope that news of Person of Interest coming to an end is not true, POI is my favorite show on TV. The acting is superb and I would greatly miss the show if it is cancelled.
I absolutely LOVE this wonderful show, POI!!! I love love love all the actors in it and the intriguing story line!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CBS…do NOT cancel this show!!! It is VERY interesting and soooo many other great shows from competing networks that we are in desperate desire for GOOD & thoughtful shows!! Casting couldn’t get any better than the ones who play “John & Harold”!!!! OUTSTANDING! So, please let them remain and fight the good fight!! Just like NCIS & Blue Bloods: CBS has a very great knack for great shows with meaning/heart/family!!! All 3 shows have proven track… Read more »
YOUR ABSOLUTLY RIGHT!!!!!!! POI is my favorite show. I kept waiting for the darn schedule to come up on the DVR, CBS channel. NOPE< now I hear it's gonna be a half a season. 13 episodes, at least to end it correctly. GET RID OF SAMARATEN, and that little gray haired guy, lol……..nice review Jennifer! CBS, rules……..I was a soldier, similar to John, I relate so much, well, from back in the DAY!!!!! ghostman………Wish we would have had earwigs, hahahaha
Keep POI going CBS, don’t do what NBC did with Star Trek ! This show is well written, well acted and well directed.
Itcwould be a travesty to cancel this unique crime drama. The concept, the acting, the cinematography is absolutely incredible. This show single handedly brought me back to the television. My kids and I actually watch the show together and engage in conversation afterwards. Hopefully the powers that be will look at this womdeeful program and at the very least give it an additional season.
