Episode 01-02: Thursday, 9/29/11
Episode two came down 13% in the demo to a 2.7 rating and 12.51 million. It was fourth in its timeslot. The network was down by 13% year-to-year and this new series is currently ranking in the middle of the pack on CBS. If the ratings keep going down like this, it won’t take much for Person of Interest to be in the bottom tier and be in serious danger.
Season average: 2.9 demo with 12.92 million.
Episode 01-01: Thursday, 9/22/11
This new drama had some positive reviews but didn’t deliver particularly strong ratings. The first episode garnered a 3.1 in the 18-49 demographic and 13.33 million viewers. It was in fourth place for the timeslot. Year-to-year, aging CSI’s last season debut did 9% better in the demo and 10% better in total viewers.
Some commenters on this site indicated that they felt the pacing was very slow and that seems to match up with the quarter hour breakdowns. Person of Interest started with a 3.3 in the demo and finished with a 2.9 rating. While these numbers aren’t bad, they are hardly what CBS was hoping for.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the new Person of Interest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

please do not cancel this show…!!!! love it!
Love this show. Please don’t cancel. Has a more sophisticated feel than most shows on television.
This is a great show. Among the best on TV. This is the only show on network TV I Tivo
My husband & I love this show! It is our favorite this season! It is a breath of fresh air.
Please keep this show going. We LOVE it. The interplay between the two leads is developing. It’s so nice not to see another crime procedural. Don’t cancel it. It’s creative, intelligent and getting better all the time. We have begun to DVR it.
I LOVE THIS SHOW.PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL. I set my DVR to record this show if I have to work late. Never boring…keep up the good work.
Thurshday’s don’t come soon enough! My husband and I make plans each week to watch this show. In my opinoin there are two to three to many CSI’s. Grey’s is the evening
soap. Fitch and Reese are intelligent and fit thier characters well. Don’t let a good thing end keep the episodes coming!!!!
KEEP this show! It is intelligent in its character development. I want to know more about Finch and Reese. It has about all the action/violence I can handle yet stays just this side of gratuitous. Emerson once again is superb in playing his character to the edge but not stepping over in to predictable. I really am enjoying the show and hope the powers to be have the sense to play this long time.
Love the show!! Don’t cancel it. But, you will probably have to get more creative to keep it interesting. E.g. It’s certainly possible that more than one person’s number could come up at the same time. It’s also possible that a terrorist plot could be revealed even though up to now only “irrelevant” numbers have come up. Good luck! 😉
I’m pretty sure that there’s a list of numbers that come up every day, but Finch is only able to save/skim off the top number of the day before it gets erased. Some technical thing.
This show needs to stay. Like any new series, it’s finding its footing. We have to get to know and care about Finch, Reese and the police folks before the show can really start to sing and that takes time. GIVE IT TIME!
Great Show…let’s keep it going!!!!!
love this show
Both my husband and myself love this show. Please make more episodes. Thank you
DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW! Person of Interest is the new “24” in our house. Jim Caviezel brings ‘cool’ back to CBS. The rest of the cast is superb, the plot twists are entertaining. Well filmed and interesting to watch! Where is the marketing? Sell this show to other viewers!!
LOVE THIS SHOW. DO NOT CANCEL IT!!
