And it’s one, two, three strikes you’re out at the old ball game. As expected, the Pitch TV show has been cancelled by FOX. There will be no season two for the female-led MLB drama.
The Pitch TV series stars Kylie Bunbury as the inspirational, young pitcher, Ginny Baker — the first woman to play Major League Baseball. The FOX cast includes Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Ali Larter, Mark Consuelos, Dan Lauria, Mo McRae, Meagan Holder, and Tim Jo.
Pitch Season One: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of Pitch averaged a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and an average total audience of 3.032 million viewers. Compared to the other FOX TV shows we’re tracking, the Pitch cancellation comes as no surprise.
Deadline reports that although the writers were released two weeks ago, the producers were notified of the Pitch TV series cancellation, on Monday.

If these networks really care about the bottom line they should fire at least half their PC, left-wing, “social justice warrior” employees and hire a bunch of execs more in tune with the popular anti-PC Zeitgeist. Then at least they’d have some balance.

I don’t like sports, hour long shows, or dramas, and I loved Pitch. A strong, black woman pitcher on a professiona baseball team. No wonder it was canceled. 🙁

I always made sure I recorded this show in case I was not home. I loved it since day one and very upset that it’s been cancelled. All you see on tv now is violence and Pitch stood for far better television. Hope someone else picks it up and give it a chance
Really thought it was a well written and fun show, sorry to hear it is done.
I think someone else should pick it up it was a good show maybe free form network or even Netflix
The show was never really given change to grow an audience and it was really good. I am not much for sports or sport themed shows but this one I really enjoyed and looked forward to each week. It seems it feel victim to networks instant gratification formula for shows, either draw large audiences from there start or be cancelled
I just told my 11 year old daughter and her 12 year old friend, both softball players, that ‘Pitch’ was canceled and not coming back …………… they both nearly cried!! We always watched this show as a family, I guess it’s back to me watching them buried in their phones again! Maybe Netflix or HBO or some other network will pick it up as a series.

Wow. Another great family show cancelled. So many positive posts, yet Fox is cancelling the show. I guess it goes to show that society would rather watch violence and obscenity rather then a good clean family style shows. These days we need more shows like “Pitch” rather then cancel them. Very sad..
So sad. This was a great show. Sometimes the good ones just aren’t appreciated. Maybe another organization will pick it up? USA?
