And it’s one, two, three strikes you’re out at the old ball game. As expected, the Pitch TV show has been cancelled by FOX. There will be no season two for the female-led MLB drama.
The Pitch TV series stars Kylie Bunbury as the inspirational, young pitcher, Ginny Baker — the first woman to play Major League Baseball. The FOX cast includes Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Ali Larter, Mark Consuelos, Dan Lauria, Mo McRae, Meagan Holder, and Tim Jo.
Pitch Season One: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of Pitch averaged a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and an average total audience of 3.032 million viewers. Compared to the other FOX TV shows we’re tracking, the Pitch cancellation comes as no surprise.
Deadline reports that although the writers were released two weeks ago, the producers were notified of the Pitch TV series cancellation, on Monday.

I am so going to miss this show. Kylie is an AMAZING actress in this role and there was so much more plot lines to explore. Fox – you are missing your fan audience on this cancellation
This makes me mad. This is a great show! Why are networks always cancelling shows before audiences have a chance to get in to them? Ginny was amazing and I blame this one on sexism. There are too many guys uncomfortable with a strong female lead…including those who work for fox!
Initially I liked it, but once they started pandering to all the people that wanted relationship drama, the show stopped being interesting. Had the show stayed on, there would have just been more “Bawson” shipper bait that would have just been insufferable. Fox made the right decision.
I have been waiting patiently for “Pitch” to come back! It seemed to take longer and longer. I loved the storyline but I did wondered how would they come back? What would they use to keep it interesting? You wouldn’t allow the relationship with the team captain. You won’t let her date openly? It was great for all women and their self esteem. I couldn’t sleep without watching it. But now to hear it’s cancelled brings pain to my heart.
This totally sucks!!! So disappointed this has been canceled. Great writing, great acting, and a much needed story-line!!!

Kept looking for this show to be renewed. Disappointed. It was unique and enjoyed watching it. Recorded every show of season one. Thanks fox for not being smart.

Very disappointed! Mark at his best! The chemistry between him and Kylie was amazing! There’s got to be a network that sees this as worthy to continue!
NO !!!!!! I loved this show, I don’t watch a lot of TV but this was a show I really did enjoy, I love baseball and the fact it was about a female pitcher is what made the show great, Kylie Bunbury ( Ginny Baker) was a role model to little girls and women to go out and chase your dreams !!! way to go FOX for canceling another great show, and not giving it a chance !!!!
I am greatly disappointed that Pitch was canceled! It was a wonderful show with a great storyline and most of all a positive role model for women !!!
So many great shows or never given a chance. Gilligans Island was canceled then picked up by another network. It has been one of the longest running shows ever.

Thought Pitch an unusually good show, one of the best on TV. Both the writing and actors first class. Give it another season.
I really like this show a lot and was disappointed that it got cancelled. Fox did not give this show more time to get better and improve their ratings. Fox is always cancelling shows too quickly. Remember Terra Nova show. I love that show. It got cancelled after one season too!
Cannot believe it was cancelled. Probably because it was a show about a woman who was a role model for girls. Give the show a chance to build up an audience. You know people who actually like plots on their tv shows and not stupid reality drivel usually set their dvd and don’t just channel surf. One of the best you are canceling. This is what almost happened to Friday Night Lights.
