Mark-Paul Gosselaar may be returning to the small screen in a new pilot for FOX. Pitch will follow the adventures of the first female baseball player to play on a major league ball team. The series will feature Kylie Bunbury in the lead.
Variety revealed more about Gosselaar’s role:
“Gosselaar will play Ginny’s (Bunbury) teammate, Mike Lawson, a handsome, charming and self-assured future Hall of Fame MLB catcher. A ladies’ man off the field and a leader on it, Mike is not sure what to do with the undeniable spark between him and Ginny, the first female MLB player who joins his team. Skeptical of her at first, he still can’t help but show her the ropes and over time, they’ll bring new meaning to the term, ‘team chemistry.’”
Gosselaar’s casting in Pitch for FOX seals the fate of his NBC comedy, Truth be Told. The series wrapped its season in December. NBC has not announced the cancellation of the series officially, but the set for the series was taken down after the series had its episode order cut.
Do you plan to watch Pitch if/when it becomes a series? Tell us what you think.
I will check it out as well. I think Bunbury is a good actress. This project (lead) will definitely give her a chance to shine.
I was sorry to see Truth be Told end, I thought that was a great show. I will check out this show, but who knows.
