Get ready for more Power Rangers. A lot more. According to Variety, Lionsgate wants to make as many as seven movies.
The studio’s upcoming film is based on The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a popular FOX Kids series that featured super-powered teenagers fighting intergalactic villains. The show ran from 1993 to 1995.
Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer recently said the studio was “really excited” about the new Power Rangers movie:
We are really, really excited about the ‘Power Rangers’ movie. We could see doing five or six or seven.”
The new movie stars Elizabeth Banks, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Naomi Scott, Dacre Montgomery, and RJ Cyler. It is scheduled for release on March 24th, 2017.
