The team members on the Pure Genius TV show work together to save lives. It’s a noble cause but will their stories attract enough viewers to bring big ratings? Will this new CBS TV series be cut down in its prime (cancelled) or, will it be renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Pure Genius follows top medical professionals as they team up with cutting-edge tech experts and try to push the boundaries of modern medicine to save lives. Doctor Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) is a disgraced but brilliant surgeon who is recruited by a young Silicon Valley tech billionaire, James Bell (Augustus Prew). Wallace learns that Bell is harboring a secret and he begins to question just what the young founder is really trying to achieve. Others on the team are played by Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty, Aaron Jennings, Ward Horton, and Brenda Song.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Pure Genius TV show on CBS? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season two?
5/15/17 update: CBS has cancelled Pure Genius after one season. Details here.
My husband and I love this show!… and the characters… please, please bring this show back for another season.
Please renew this show
Love this show! Renew for season 2
I love this show! Augustus Prew is great! Please renew for season two. The storyline is very intriguing
Of course this should be renewed. This is one of the very few shows I look forward to watching every week. I was very upset that it wasn’t on this week. We need a break from all this rediculous reality TV
It should absolutely be renewed. It is one of the few shows I look forward to watching every week. Give it a chance. This is a nice break from junk reality TV shows.
Really unfortunate as this has been one of the few shows worth watching. It is inventive and captivating. I guess shows which appeal to an older demographic simply lack the mindlessness of the program’s picked up by the networks. One more reason to go to a service and have choice.
This is the best show I’ve seen in years!
Just found this show! Its really good!! So sad CBS has canceled this!!! NEVER HEARD OF IT!!! Vey bad promotion of this show!! But then again it is Hollywood where brains aren’t required! 🙁
We love this show!! Please give us a 2nd season!!!!!!
Please keep the show!! I enjoy watching it, keep it
We really have enjoyed watching Pure Genius. Please reconsider plans to cancel this amazing show.
This is the best show I’ve seen in years! Absolutely love it! I fell in love with James! I would hate to see this show end like to many other great shows when terrible ones stay on
PURE GENIUS is the the best show since House was aired. Please don’t cancel it. Every one Every one I Every one I talk to is watching it, or was til it just wasn’t there on Thursday nights anymore.
Then to hear it’s being canceled made me sick. You keep a stupid sitcom like Kevin can Wait??? The other new sitcoms are great.
But Pure Genius gives us hope when we live in a world where hope is relatively gone.
Please please don’t cancel Pure Genius!
If I had to crawl to CBS and beg I would.
Pure genius should NOT be cancelled. It is one of the best shows on the air. I looked forward to watching it each week. Television needs more shows like Pure genius and less of the negative violent view of humanity shows that are being shown. BRING BACK PURE GENIUS FOR THE MILLIONS WHO MISS IT VERY MUCH!
This is finally a show my husband and I can watch together; he’s a tech geek, and I’m a medical nerd. I love the combination of the two. We need a season 2. This gives me hope for future medical treatment and inspiration.
