Everything’s coming up Craig. Variety reports that several networks are vying for the new Daniel Craig mini-series, Purity.
The limited series is based on the 2015 Jonathan Franzen novel of the same name. UPDATE 6/1/2016: Showtime orders Purity as a limited series.
Purity centers on Purity “Pip” Tyler, a 20-something woman with mounting college debts who takes an unusual job in Bolivia. Along the way, she meets several eccentric characters.
So far, Craig is the only actor committed to the project, with Franzen and Todd Field set to write and Scott Rudin slated to produce.
Reportedly, Rudin has met with several networks, including Showtime, FX, and Netflix, to shop the series.
What do you think? Have you read the novel yet? Would you watch the mini-series?
Being a lover of all things Bond, I’ve been hoping for a new Craig vehicle; however, they will have to surprise me substantially with this story line. Sounds like a goofy, silly, somewhat prepondrous poposition thus far, going by the description, at least. I was hoping for something like a “Hunteresque” program which reminds me…..why no “Hunted” continued series? The things they put on TV and the fabulous shows they cancel these days! Sheesh!
