Is The Real O’Neals on its way out? Deadline reports star Matt Shively has been cast in a new NBC pilot.
Shively plays Jimmy O’Neal on the ABC sitcom, which just finished its second season earlier this month. The cast also includes Martha Plimpton, Jay R. Ferguson, Noah Galvin, Bebe Wood, and Mary Hollis Inboden.
The Real O’Neals never performed all that well in the ratings and season two’s numbers dropped even further. Overall, the season averaged a .93 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 3.068 million viewers. ABC has not announced yet whether the sitcom will return for a third season or not. However, the odds look slim.
NBC’s new pilot Spaced Out “is a workplace comedy that centers on a working-class genius, Peter Gibbons (Shively), and his struggles to fit in with an established team — all made more difficult when their job is building a rocket to Mars.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Real O’Neals? Do you want a third season?
The Real O’Neals was one of my favorite shows-I really hope it comes back for a third season!
Love the show!
I love “The Real O’Neals”! Why in the world are you canceling it?
I have really enjoyed the Real O’Neals. I hate to see it go.
I love the real O’Neals, I have watched it from the beginning when it first aired. This has to be prejudice people hating on somebody for something they can’t help, and this show could be helping some teen that is gay realize that it could be ok to tell mom or dad that they are gay, I wish I could have come out of the garage before I was 18.
It’s the best newer show on TV
Yes, please keep it on the air!
Please put it back on this show back on
Keep it on the air please!
No
I hope ABC reconsiders. The show was funny and relevant.
Thank Goodness, take this crap off.
I think the show is one of the best shows on television. I love Modern Family, but I actually think the Real O’Neals is funnier and higher quality.
I love the show.
