Legal and crime dramas are a big part of the CBS schedule during the year. This summer, the network started airing another one — Reckless. Has this new TV show been a ratings success? Will it be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead?
Reckless revolves around a beautiful litigator from the north and a charming southern attorney who must hide their intense mutual attraction as a police sex scandal erupts in Charleston, South Carolina. The TV show’s cast includes Cam Gigandet, Anna Wood, Shawn Hatosy, Georgina Haig, Adam Rodríguez, Michael Gladis, Kim Wayans, and Gregory Harrison.
The series debuted in late June to just a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.99 million total viewers. That was a very poor start for a scripted series — even one that airs during the summer months when expectations are lower.
Reckless’ ratings have held fairly steady and have even seen some slight improvements at times. That’s positive but the series is still the network’s lowest-rated summer series — by far. With such low ratings, it’s hard to imagine that CBS will consider renewing Reckless for a second season.
For now, CBS has only scheduled 10 of the 13 episodes. Hopefully for the loyal fans, all of the episodes will air and the series will have a satisfying conclusion.
But, what do you think? Do you like the Reckless series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
10/9 update: CBS has cancelled Reckless after one season. Details here.

I knew nothing about this show Reckless until stumbling across it on Netflix one night and after the first episode I was HOOKED..!! Reckless isn’t just one of those 5 seconds of fame shows with god awful acting and a bunch of noise just to give you a headache but it’s the southern charm that makes this show so great. Charleston is Beautiful, the cast is phenomenal and the plot of this show changes with each episode which keeps you entertain. This didn’t only focus on drama like most reality TV but true drama that most people are going through… Read more »
I totally agree with Rose. Reckless has a good story line. She named all the same shows that I agree should be gone…you can add Under the Dome to the list. It did not watch it on TV but on Netflix. If you don’t do a second season maybe Netflix can cash in
Please bring this series back! It was such a great first season and I can’t wait to see whats going to happen next!
Looking forward to season 2 of Reckless, It was fantastic. We cant just be left out without no ending. It is rather disgusting to see shows with no ending, what is wrong with all of you people. I saw on Netflix and waiting for them, to pick this up and look at Longmire, and thanks to Netflix for picking this one up, it was fantastic also.. Both of these were awesome, and I will continue to praise Netflix for doing this.
Please renew the show. The best one so far. The intensity was good. And kept all of us on the edge.
I just watched all 13 episodes on Netflix and loved it. I don’t remember seeing it advertised when on TV – so I never heard of it before.
I think someone – maybe Netflix should pick up the Series.
Yes it should come back for season2 ,I enjoyed it very much.
